We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Look, I get it. But as much as he somehow makes fun of the fact that I have a BA and MBA from Appalachian is funny. The irony is that Clark is making us small time. Let him do his thing. Be better and push for "Appy" to be better. Our day will come. Of that I am sure.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 8:27 pmOk, so now he’s denigrating the program that he’s trolling by calling us small time. I think it might be best to ban people who post absolutely false statements about players status on the team...like being in the doghouse...when in fact...they are actually injured....
And then they assert that said player should be playing anyway since they are a star player on the team

Yeah, this staff has never kept its best players out of the game and leave us to speculate it’s because of an injury when really they were in the doghouse!BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 8:37 pmI think it might be best to ban people who post absolutely false statements about players status on the team...like being in the doghouse...when in fact...they are actually injured....

Re: JMU reminds me of old App State
I wonder how many threads we can have on this board that are basically the exact same discussion. No matter where it starts, they all degenerate to this same back and forth. MMB is more painful that watching the gut wrenching losses on the field. At least the players are fighting and not cannibalizing each other.
OK. I got that off my chest.
Regarding JMU, what they are doing is impressive but they aren't world beaters. It's interesting that some of the same individuals (not all) who who are already concluding this as a loss are accusing other posters of having a "loser mentality." Seems like some have a quitter mentality. The season is half over. That means there is half yet to be played. JMU is good but not unbeatable. App has done a great job of shooting ourselves in the foot so far this year, but the same things that have been so frustrating are the reason we shouldn't be giving up on this team. We have lost two of our 3 games on busted plays....errors in a very few plays. The thing is that those errors have generally been by otherwise stand-out players or in a manner that does not represent a pattern.
Wyoming loss can be attributed to a couple of key mistakes: dropped pass by Davis which turned out to be a live ball and a turnover. That resulted in a TD for Wyoming. Davis is a highly reliable WR and rarely drops easy passes. That coupled with the fact it turned out to be a lateral was just painful but hardly a pattern. The blocked kick was also a non-characteristic play. Everyone thought it was the right play right up until the kick was blocked for a scoop and score that cost us the game. I disagree with those who say the coaches were "coaching scared." I think the coaches had confidence in our running game and called a conservative game. If either of the above plays doesn't happen, they coach a winning game. I get it. It is painful.
Against CCU, Milan fumbles the ball after a great play. Yeah...I know the comments about ball security as a team, but Milan is a play maker and it was an effort error. We were in position to put this game away but the error cost us. That's part of the game (a painful part).
James Madison has been good but they barely squeaked out a win against a bad Virginia team. They are good, but if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot, there is no reason we can't win. That said, we cannot spot them 14 points before we figure out what to do with our defensive.

I hear ya concerning JMU, I get a feeling they're going to drop one before we meet. I wouldn't be surprised if Marsha takes them this coming Thursday. Marsha had a bad game yesterday and I feel they want retribution (so to speak).

The JMU game is one we may win, backs against the wall playing up to our competition.

I have thought about that. I could see that happen but we will have to play up big time because JMU is a really good team. They should be ranked today.

I watched us versus UNCCH, we have the ability to play with everyone on our schedule.
Preparation and then focus during the games will be the difference in 5 wins versus 7 or more.

Re: JMU reminds me of old App State
We can play with or lose to anyone on our remaining schedule, depending on which App team shows up. Prior to the season I felt like 5-7 worst case and 9-3 best case. We could easily do either one right now and it depends on how we play. We control our own destiny so if we win out then this season could be good but if we go 3-3 or 2-4 then it will be a bad season.

JMU has 25 to 30 transfers on their roster. Maybe only 6 this year maybe...but they have embraced transfers.

That might be a good assessment of the JaMU team but their fans have become GaStink/The banty roosters/and UNCConcord combined in a blender. They are causing me to find some level of compassion for The Stink and that's not goodPhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 1:33 pmMaking tackles, spreading the field, running, catching, causing turnovers, not making mistakes...... very well coached and executed by players..... they used to trash talk, now they just beat you

. They have good players...but impressed with one of their D lineman..when he knew he could not get to QB. He just waited his time to jump up to try to bat ball...got one or two...be great if our young guys evolve into this. Stink releases the ball pretty quickly. Will be hard to get to QB
Yes....your correct their QB gets rid of it quick....they are and will be tough to defend and you have to have the firepower on O to match. I feel like our team last year matched up better even though our front 4 is improved.
