App fans can't get past the obsession of reaching the CFP? Who are you talking to on a regular basis.

The majority of the craziest people in our fanbase (i.e. those of this board), are wanted to compete for SBC titles. CFP would be a once every two decades type run is our wildest dreams.

Those fans are insane. Not expecting even a top 20 team in todays world but do expect a Sunbelt Championship.

I completely agree with you guys. There have been the crazies on this board who spoke extensively about how the Sunbelt champ could (and should) be able to finish in the top 4 rated conference champs hence securing a CFP bid. That same crew believes that we have the resources and the “brand” to achieve this goal. Most rational people are still on board with competing for a Sunbelt championship along with whatever post season award is available. If the token G5 slot remains that representative will most likely still get throttled in a playoff game. Personally I’d hate to see a great 13-0 App team get destroyed in Boone in a playoff game.

The top ranked G5 team, at this point, makes the 12 team CFP. If App had gone 10-1 with a close loss to Clemson and a conference championships, do you not think they would've been in the conversation to take the spot Boise State was in?

I'm not obsessed with reaching the CFP, at this point a bowl and a win over Southern is all I'm wanting, but you're crazy to say you DON'T want App in the playoff.

If I had to choose, I'd rather get destroyed in a home CFP game than get destroyed on a random Thursday night at home to South Alabama. I also am of the belief that a 13-0 App team may lose that game, but it would acquit itself better than you think.

Agreed. Want to be the best . Got to play the best. If app goes undefeated and played a decent notable nonconference schedule, would be interesting to see

The opponent has probably never played at The Rock in December/January. Like Gawgia St several years ago in the cold ..they did not want any of that .

FAMU - perhaps the most unprepared I’ve seen us. Our defense was literally looking at the sidelines for the call when their no huddle was hiking the ball.

Maine - just not a great team that year.

SFA - this one hurt the most of those listed, their oline punched us in the face including Coakley.

Marshall - just better than us and everyone in I-AA

Nova - best individual performance any opponent has ever had against us.
