DG - If the rumor is true and you are reading this thread, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! It was great meeting you this past Saturday at the bus in stadium lot. You are doing a great job! Very happy to have you in Boone and look forward to experiencing the new heights you lead all of our athletic programs to.AppDawg wrote:Dear Mr. Gillin,
The Miami Hurricaines are looking for a 4th game for 2016. Based on prior and future schedules they play 2 home and 2 away OOC. They already have their 2 home games inked up and have a history of playing at G5's (toledo, rutgers, cincy, fiu). The weekend of Sept. 17th is currently open for them, per fbschedules.com. Please buy out NCCU and lock-in the Hurricanes for pur 1st P5 home game. Let's welcome them to THE ROCK and tee our schedule up to make some noise nationally in '16!!!
Sincerely,
AppDawg

Why would Miami come to Boone? What would there be in it for them? KBS would be SRO, of course, but still.AppDawg wrote:DG - If the rumor is true and you are reading this thread, THANK YOU! It's closer to Coral Gables than Sunlife Stadium is for startersNewApp wrote:Why would Miami come to Boone? What would there be in it for them? The buyout will be NC Central so it will go on that weekend.

Could make for an interesting game with Miami in rebuilding mode. We'd probably still be viewed as underdogs but it would definitely not be a Clemson game.

Hmm...good point. Would a discounted rate for AppStateTV create the same issue?AppinVA wrote:You probably couldn't do that and keep a contribution tax-deductible.ASUMountaineer wrote:How about including AppStateTV for Yosef Club donors? Could be one more incentive, that won't cost a whole lot, to drum up donors.

Daphne may be able to fill in the details as the resident tax guru, but I believe they could do that and still keep part of the contribution tax deductible. I think they would have to identify the value of anything tangible received by the donor and remove that amount from the deductible part.

Re: APP Wish List - Please send to Doug Gillin
Just have to wonder that if, after UMass dropped and we evidently hurriedly filled the spot with (no offense to NCCU) a quite unappealing opponent- even though they seem to play at Duke about every year, has there been something in the works to replace that game? This would be quite a coup. There could be no rumblings anywhere about our SOS next season for sure. Just a side note it was interesting to hear last night on the college playoff show that one of the reason's why Clemson is number one is because of the number of winning teams they have played so far. I could be wrong but I think I heard that the committee guy said that so far Clemson has beaten 4 teams with at least a .500 record. Are they number one if we are sitting at 3-5 right now?
