True Freshmen
I'm sure it has been mentioned somewhere but who are the true freshmen who could make an immediate impact this season? Our next Duck

Re: True Freshmen
Jermaine McDaniel, Thomas Hennigan, possibly D'Andre Hicks. From what I've been reading those are the true freshman getting reps with the 1's and 2's during camp. I'd be surprised if the rest of the freshman aren't redshirted, and Hicks could be a possibility there as well.

Re: True Freshmen
Agree with the names Yosef10 said. I don't know if anyone will make the impact Duck did, but those guys should play.
I think others will play too. Huff, Williams, Taylor all with a shot. Sounds like Hannon is also playing really well and even has a chance to start, though ideally you'd probably rather have someone who's more physically ready to play C.

Re: True Freshmen
Ok, is anyone else miffed at no write-ups from the scrimmages we've had? It's been pretty disappointing for those of us who get into who are likely to be the back-ups. Guess we have to be mind readers. My most like Duck is Shawn Jolly. He won't need to start like Duck was forced to but it will be very hard to keep this kid off the field. I know there are several r-shirts he'd have to beat out but you heard it here first. When he does get to play.... we'll all see why. He's one that thinks that every ball in the air is his. Similar size and aggressiveness. Go look at his highschool tape. If you didn't know better you'd think it's Duck.

I will say, if anyone is interested in information of this kind you should head over to AppStateMania.com and sign up for a subscription. David, I believe that's his name but if not my apologies, over there does a great job providing recruiting info, fall/spring camp updates, commentary from the coaches, etc.
A lot of the questions asked on this board are normally answered there in sourced (or at least very educated guessing) detail. I know he works hard for his info so I don't want to be the guy dropping info on a free board that is usually behind paywalls. But it is worth it IMO.

McDaniel comes from a strong high school program, glad to see him doing well.Yosef10 wrote:Jermaine McDaniel, Thomas Hennigan, possibly D'Andre Hicks. I agree, coverage from AppStateSports is very spotty and doesn't give many details that aren't already known.AppFan11 wrote:Ok, is anyone else miffed at no write-ups from the scrimmages we've had? I wouldn't expect much more detail out of those reports from the schools website. Satt is notoriously tight lipped and I'm sure he's making sure the student reporters are the same.

I've been enjoying those as well Saint. I also noticed he put up a post on instagram that says ESPN came to town to do a feature of what I believe will be the 2007 team. Set to air on Gameday on Sept. 2nd. If so, that's some very good exposure.

IMHO, on AppStateSports.com, probably not before "Game Day" on 8.30 or 8.31. That'll be just Scott being Scott.bigdaddyg wrote:Along those lines when do you guys think we might see a depth chart?

Agree. I met David in Montgomery and enjoyed talking with him. Lots of good info on there. I won't tell anyone how to spend their money, but at $5/month it's a steal in my book.Yosef10 wrote:I will say, if anyone is interested in information of this kind you should head over to AppStateMania.com and sign up for a subscription. Re: True Freshmen
We should know a first (preliminary) full two deep after this Sat. We've had a lot of guys nicked up at various times and haven't gotten as much playing time as some would have liked to see them. The actual two deep for UGA will not be up until Game Day Central returns, as 66' said. We have a pretty good idea on most but still need to see some positions shake out in the next week.
As for David over at Scout, I've been pushing people in his direction for a while. We talk daily and sometimes several times a day. I know how hard he works to get the coverage he puts up. We share info all the time. It's a good investment for those who want to know more than can be put on an open site board. Even the free sections have good stuff posted. And with the 24/7 player database now included (which has always been better than Scout's) it's even better now.

Looks like (WR) Thomas Hennigan's stock continues to rise. Expect him to play not RS.

Re: True Freshmen
Not too surprising that Noah Hannon progressing well in the trenches and offering immediate depth at C position. His younger brother Gabe starting on OL for Top 10 Greer (SC) High as well.
