Refs could have thrown a flag on the blocked XP

Here's a highlight of the blocked XP, and though it is a bad angle, it still fits my argument.
As the ball was being recovered (or downed, thus ending the play) at least 30 of the ISU players and staff were already on the field celebrating. By rule, the refs should have thrown a flag and we should have received an extra try, half the distance closer to the goal line. I remember a FBS game earlier this season where the team/fans rushed the field early during the middle of the play resulting in another try.
Let me be clear to say that I am not complaining that a flag wasn't thrown, if I was a ref I wouldn't have thrown it either, I'm just saying that by rule a flag probably should have been tossed.

That was
BYU vs. Utah. One of the craziest game endings I've ever seen.

Yes that happened but why should it have been a penalty?. The game was over.

It was a loose ball on a play that wasn't dead yet. It technically should have been a penalty as the game was not over.

No referee in the right mind would throw that flag, especially if they wanted to ever work another playoff game again.

PAT blocked. Game over. Move on. No sane ref will ever bail you out in that situation. Let's talk about the Montana game.

Technically, yes it could have been a penalty but the game was over. That would have been a horrible call. Did any of the App players step foot on the field before Corey Lynch was tackled at the Big House? Would have been nothing short of robbery, they deserved the W.

That's a pretty good analogy.
