I miss our old football board/posters...

Unread post by AppGrad1 » Sat Dec 01, 2012 9:07 pm

I can't even get in a good argument on here anymore.
Not enough posters to ever disagree with me!
It's lonely in here!

We used to have pages and pages after a game but now you're lucky to have a thread with 10 posts on it.... O, the good ol days.

There has been plenty of discussion on here the last few days. Surprised you can't find an argument.

I saw the exact same thing over and over. ISU gamed planned well for those match ups.

They keyed on some of our weakest players, something even Satterfield's play calling couldn't rectify.

Yes they did and their coach even said it post game...Also, when I said changes made...I meant player changes, not coaches.

I miss the threads that were 10 pages long and close to a hundred posts.

Yea. He's been burnt all year.
He sure doesn't need to be our last line of defense, although mccray got used many times today..

Mccray got flagged once for nothing and the other time he had great coverage got turned and the WR just made a spectacular play. Geat pass/catch beats great coverage everytime. Said other player getting burned never had good coverage/field position and nver got his head around....ever. My guess is his entire ride home he never looked back not even check check blind spots.

I dont think the post total has gone down at all. Wasn't the old MMB 10 posts per page. Well its 20 at the new improved board and could that very well account for what seems like a lack of pages. Even if post totals have gone down which I dont feel like they have its got nothing to do with the board. It a lack of intest in ASU football. We havent won a NC in 5 years. What did the old MMB look like in 2004 before the championships? Not very impressive I know cause that was the year I joined the board.

4 day sample.

54 threads were posted in the last 4 days on this site. aka the last poster posted within the last 4 days. Nov 28th-Dec 2nd. 1053 posts in 54 threads. 19.5 average posts per thread.

44 threads were posted in the last 4 days of life on the MMB, Aug 28th-augh 31st. (not counting 89's end of the mmb threads that had his post only)
539 posts in those 44 threads. 12.25 averages posts per thread.

Granted by the time we got to the last few days of the MMB many people had already stopped posting on there but I don't really know how to get back to other dates. Maybe someone who has access to that could pick 4 days near the end of last years football season to make a comparison so that the facts are out there for this debate.

I think there are probably about the same amount of posters on this board as I believe there are some newbies that have joined up. I think the difference that many of the older posters are noticing is that some of the old faces have left or hardly ever post anymore. That is the difference. Greg, Norton, and some of the other real characters didn't seem to really make jump or they have and they just don't care to post anymore. I don't even post that much on this board and I was fairly active on the MMB. There are also just getting to be too many fan sites.

Personally I think this forum should have had a name change when it switched over. It has some of the same folk but it really isn't the MMB anymore. I think the MMB should have been put to rest when 89 decided not to pass it along to someone else and let it die.

From my angle, I couldn't see the interference that McCray committed either, but I was listening to DJ and SB on the radio and they said that in the replay, it was pretty clear that McCray had a handful of the receiver's shirt for about 4 steps. According to them, it was a good call.

McCray jumped too early trying to interecept the pass and ended up pulling on the guys jersey as he came down. I thought it was a good call, but hoped they wouldn't call it.

This board is 1000x better for the fact that ggregg isn't here alone. Not to mention it's actually user friendly.

Fair enough, thats not what I saw but ill defer to the majority and DJ on this one. At least he was in a position to make a play.

It was easy to see from the East side that DM got a handful of jersey.

I saw the exact same thing over and over. ISU gamed planned well for those match ups.

I spoke to the father of the ISU Offensive Coordinator after the game and mentioned that the RedBirds surely did expose some things, again not mentioning any names... the father replied "a lot of game film was reviewed, particularly in that area." it sure looked like it! or someone just had a bad day!
