2013 Schedule - Wedding Planning

Unread post by AppState2009 » Thu Jan 03, 2013 2:01 pm

Fellow Mountaineers,

I need your help/guidance/wisdom, I am recently engaged :D and we are in the process of planning the wedding :? . We are trying to pick a date and all signs are pointing to a fall wedding, she wasn't going for Summer and can't wait until Winter. The fiance (Adopted App Fan/Meredith College grad) knows my addiction to all thing ASU and we are trying to schedule around our home games as I/we are season ticker holders.

Traditionally when does the schedule come out? Is there any correlation with last years schedule? Is there anyone I can contact in the Yosef Club (i'm a member), Ticket office, etc. that would know when we have home games? I don't care who we play just when we play at home.

Thanks Guys! :)

All the Socon games are obviously on a rotating home and away schedule, but I'm not sure you can draw any conclusion about which games are when yet except for the Montana and Georgia game. Congratulations btw, and sorry I'm not any help.

Go for a spring wedding. That's what my wife and I did nearly 2 years ago. She's a Steelers fan and I being a season ticket holder took a fall wedding off the table. Unlike some people I know on this board...cough...cough...bh2oson...cough who had a fall wedding.

If I recall, the schedule is usually out in late winter early spring.

A few seasons back (4 I think) I had a daughter plan a fall wedding. Very stressful... I was at least able to get the wedding planned for the night App played Presbyterian. That is about as close to not missing a game as one can get... we weren't in our seats but didn't miss much.

Over 22 years ago and we are still going strong. Both App grads but we did jinx them. App played at Clemson and lost 48-0. We did beat Chattanooga last year on our 22nd Anniversary. I believe AppState89 got married in September too.

Have the wedding in August. It's practically fall and that way you won't have to worry about future anniversary issues on a weekend when we're hosting Wake or ECU and you want to be at the game and she wants you to take her somewhere. Trust me.

AppState2009,

Congrats to you and your fiance! The four games that have been announced so far are the following.

August 31 @ Montana
October 5 @ The Citadel
October 26 vs. Georgia Southern
November 9 @ Georgia

The two conference games vs. GSU and at Citadel are available on their schedule. Good luck with the wedding! :D

Have it on the 50 yard line at half time. It would be just as fast as a Las Vegas quickie. And a thousand times more meaningful ;) .

Do not under any circumstances get married during football season. You'll regret it in later years; and all football fans who must attend the ceremony will be scurrying to a TV somewhere nearby. Most of the groomsmen will be cursing during the ceremony whilst checking their I-phone or Blackberry for updates.

June is good.

A few people who frequent the board will attend the wedding, we all have our fingers crossed. If its a home game we will stream the game via GoASU :-)

I'm telling you man. Avoid football season at all costs. You think you're talking about one game this fall, but all those anniversaries (may there be plenty) are going to be a pain in your rear. Tell her you are preventing future fights and unhappiness. It will happen!

I got married on October 6th. With that, we often celebrate our anniversary at ASU with our homecoming entourage.

I wish circumstances had allowed me to get married at another date. Sure you can find a bye week here or there. But that won't be the bye week next year. Your anniversary will then fall during football season for the rest of your life. And to my wife, a football game isn't exactly a romantic anniversary getaway.
