I apologize if this has been talked about already, but anyone have an idea of how many App fans were in attendance?

I was looking around the stadium and trying to eye it out- if our allotment was around 4300 and we were regulated to that far 100/200 section. Then you had the gradual blend into the other sections, then the peppered fans throughout, then the far corner section on the home side .....I would think a 10k estimate would be pretty fair. It blew my mind walking around Chapel Hill prior to the game, and hanging out on Franklin after the game of how much black and gold was around. Another hard thing to gauge was the *clear throat* um, fans, wearing the App hats and Carolina shirts too. Should we count them as “0.5” fans?

I couldnt gauge our attendance but is was well north of 7,000. 100 101 and 102 were mostly ASU the section aboves us was too and across in the upper and lower deck

Our section 200 was at least 90% Black and Gold.

Our section - 231 - was all App State fans, but was only about 70% full. Not sure why people got tickets (student tix available last week) & did not come. I heard a few stories of students that partied a bit too hard Friday night in Boone & didn't make the trip. LOL I agree 10K estimate is fair.

It is difficult to say, but I think there were between 10k & 12k App fans there.

I base that on noise level I heard, and the black & gold I saw.

Don't know how to count those multi - attired, fence-setters.

Yeah, take a look at that picture from the home side that’s going around where app fans are still in the stadium and the unc folks have left. Lots of folks in black that may have not looked as impressive as the gold, but the number had to be north of 8k. Very impressive from my seat in section 128.

May never get an exact number but from the noise level from App Fans from my TV set it just as well have been 30,000 plus. Good job gang

You got a link to that photo? I've seen some videos from the seats behind the goal post on our end of the field but no decent photos from the home side.

This the photo being referenced? Attendance announced at 50,500...I'd say we had between 8-12K fans there

Surprising that there's gold scattered all across that side.

Frankly, I dont think that 1 out of 5 people at the game were App fans. I would guess around 7,000 of us were there.

Yup, that’s the one, lots of Black as well as gold

I was there and my guess is around 10k. My Catamount son was with me and cheered loudly for App. I stood up, looked around and walked through both concourses; a lot of us were in Chapel Hill.

Perhaps a nickname for our fans when we travel on the road?

We had a good showing, that’s for sure. Several of my UNC friends commented on our “culture” and how the game felt like a lot more than just a “tune up.” Not to beat a dead horse, but I thought it was funny the way the game was hyped in chapel hill versus how the game was hyped in Boone/everywhere else. In section 229 it was mostly blue and white, but it was pretty cool to see so much black and gold scattered throughout the stadium.

Again wow... ASUBock that tells the tale.. they were about outnumbered....

A lot of gold in them there heels......we should wear gold to away games....black doesn’t stand out at all

I always opt for Gold on away trips. Like to make it obvious why I'm there, no questions need to be asked.
