This is a big deal. Never heard of an SBC game getting picked up mid-season like this.

Not to keep rehashing this over and over, but stuff like this is why some of us wanted to be ranked ASAP. This doesn't happen if we don't have a number next to our name.

Absolutely correct. Also, just spending a couple minutes on Twitter, noted two of our recruits retweeting that we are ranked. Anything that helps differentiate us from our competitors is a huge boost.

Why go play at unranked ECU when you can come to Boone and play for a top 25 program???

Obviously we have to win to be ranked, and ranking and winning are not mutually exclusive, but there's a really big picture here that is larger than just the product on the football field. National exposure on ESPN (for the game broadcast), as well as all the lead in and wrap up shows across various platforms is huge. Staying in the top 25 for the remainder of this season (NY6 or not) will set us up for next seasons rankings, as well.

Also means App will be on ESPNU on a Saturday. It also means that App gets on ESPN in back to back weeks as the Georgia Southern game is also on National TV.

Assuming App beats ULM, defeating USA and Georgia Southern in a big way on National TV should put App on the radar with SMU and Boise State.

Being ranked is the difference between recruiting against Charlotte and recruiting against ECU

Is this our first regular season nationally televised conference game on a Saturday?

Agree on all said on national visibility/recruiting/etc. But just not having to watch the game on the horrendous ESPN+ app with a camera crew they found at tailgate 20 minutes prior to the kick is simply the best news for me here.

The last one I can remember was Miami back in 2016.

Exactly.

Being ranked is essential in continuing to build our program. It's the equivalent of having a A+ Certification from the BBB on a business. When people see that ranking, they know it verifies this is a top-tier program regardless of conference affiliation or school size.

It'll help entice future recruits, put butts in the stands, build up the fanbase, broadcast games on bigger networks and maybe help make us more attractive to bigger conferences in the event the "E" word happens again.

Now we just have to keep it.

That was non conference. To my knowledge we have never had a national conference game on a Saturday during the regular season.

We’re not there yet and we have a way to go but this is the kind of stuff that could build our PROGRAM into one that could sustain coaching changes. This is the start of the dream of being Boise east. Plus my dumb A$$ doesn’t have to figure out how to get espn plus on my tv.

Then no, I think this is a first at least since App joined the conference.

Do you have a Fire Stick or Chromecast? Fire TV has an ESPN app that you can activate your ESPN+ through, and if you have Chromecast you can just cast it from your computer.
