Our Goals Are Still In Front Of Us

First and foremost, It’s still great to be a Mountaineer, always will be!

Next, some of the posts on here last night and this morning are down right shameful! Are we all upset, of course we are. It sucks losing, it sucks worse losing to “them.” We all bleed Black and Gold. We expect to win every game, every time, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We hit some adversity last night. Was it effort, intensity, execution, the weather, the refs? Probably a little of everything. The effort and intensity seemed to missing in spots. The weather was horrific, especially for our offense, sometimes we lean on the passing game to open up the run game. GS gambled, used the wind and stuffed the box to take away the run and it paid off. The refs were awful all game long, but it’s tough to pin this loss solely on them. Without seeing the replay yet, that quick “whistle” on their fumble appeared to be a terrible call. This would have been an early game changer with us taking over in the red zone. The PI call in the end zone looked suspect as well. Along all the missed PI calls on them.

Calling for players to criticize fans?!? That’s a recipe for disaster. Personally I thought that was a pretty big crowd considering all the factors. Maybe not the loudest, but way more than any other SunBelt and most G5 teams would pull in those conditions Boone was under a tornado watch all day, oh and that was before the bitter cold, wind, sleet, and snow.

All that aside, our goals are still in front of us. Relax, stop attacking each other. Stop asking for players to call out fans, stop calling out players for not caring. Circle the freaking wagons, get behind these guys. Show up at SC, show up in Atlanta and Troy, show up at the Rock and let’s do this thing. We’ve been here before! Chances are the igglets lose at least one more game and we are right back where we started. We got this, LET’S GO!!

GO APPS!!
