QB 2021
Not sure if anyone has heard if who's coming back in 21 etc. What's everyone guess for starter/backup for 21? Saddened to see Char got a former 4 star qb transfer from Texas AM. That dude would have flourished in App's system

Re: QB 2021
I’m personally hoping we go with DC Tabscott. From the film I’ve seen, he’s got a great arm. Top player in Tennessee this year. He’s also one of the main reasons our recruiting class is loaded the way it is...other guys want to play with him. Just my 2 cent...

Love this kid on film and he's been vocal on social media. Could be a great leader.PhillyApp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:47 pmI’m personally hoping we go with DC Tabscott. Re: QB 2021
I know Shuler is the top on the depth chart of returning players (assuming Zac and Jacob don't return). That said, the coaches are extremely high on Tabscott. It all depends how he picks up the speed of the college game vs high school. He definitely has the arm talent -- it'll be mental for him.
Shuler I know early in the season struggled with reading defenses, but that's to be expected. I haven't heard how he progressed through the season with that. He was able to make virtually every throw day 1 though -- which is hard to come by at our level

Re: QB 2021
Just watched Tabscott’a film. That kid has a hell of a arm and isn’t afraid to stay in the pocket and take a hit. Always worry when this period comes of transitioning to a new QB (if neither return) but we have been spoiled with some damn good qbs so I’m excited.

Re: QB 2021
Well, Shuler may be our only returning scholarship QB if the seniors don’t return, so that’s something. But he’s not actually on the depth chart at all. Gibbs is 3rd string (no, I don’t think he’ll start for us), and it appears Tanner Wilson may be ahead of Shuler as well.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 8:16 pmI know Shuler is the top on the depth chart of returning players (assuming Zac and Jacob don't return). Only because the plan was to redshirt Shuler the entire time.... Shuler is above GibbsEastHallApp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 9:56 pmWell, Shuler may be our only returning scholarship QB if the seniors don’t return, so that’s something. I have my doubts, but I’ll leave it at that. Perhaps he’ll turn out to be great.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:13 pmOnly because the plan was to redshirt Shuler the entire time.... Re: QB 2021
I wouldn't expect Zac to return. In fact, I'd be surprised if 25% of our Seniors return.
Also, I don't believe Tabscott, Shuler, etc. will be ready to start next fall. Wouldn't be surprised to see App sign an experienced QB out of the Portal.

Re: QB 2021
Tabscotts upside is off the charts ....however I would like to see Jacob back .I think he has earned it and it takes some of the immediate pressure off QBT.

Re: QB 2021
I doubt Huesman returns (no inside knowledge, though), and I wouldn't necessarily assume we'd just stand pat and make him starter by default if he did.

Huesman has done a great job...but why?
Reminds me a lot of having Trey Elder start at NCSU in 2006

Re: QB 2021
I have seen this mentioned on here before but nobody has ever actually stated that DBG has stated his intention to leave. He certainly hasn't entered the transfer portal yet which would have seemed like a first step that he would've already taken if he was leaving. I just want to know why people think this, is it just because he took a Covid waiver and went back to California to be with his family? To me that action, in and of itself, does not signal that he doesn't intend to return to App State, especially being that he is our highest ever rated recruit and there are zero qbs in the room with any starting experience. Talk about a real opportunity to be the guy. This kid is super talented, I hope he is back on campus in the spring because I think he can be a difference maker for us. If does leave, I wish him well and next man up. But again, I really would like some indication of why people think he won't return.
