Anybody thinking of going to the Louisiana game? I live in Greensboro, NC & I’m considering of flying to Louisiana & attending, but I don’t wanna be a loner. It’ll make us look bad

I’ve been to LA the last two times we played them, both midweek, and there were a few of us there. Very hospitable fans. Pretty good attendance on their part for a midweek game. Going again this year.

Re: UL/App Game
I’d love to make one sometime. Aunt lives in Lafayette and is an App grad. She makes it to the game occasionally. So free place to stay but that drive with 3 kids sucks.

Not sure if it’s feasible for all, but non stop flights from Charlotte to Lafayette are currently running $260.

We went the first year we played them there. Had a blast. The food and their fans were great! Don't know if we can make the trip this season but highly recommend going if you can. They have a Hilton Garden Inn on campus across from their stadium.

I will be there, but it's easy for me since I live in New Roads, LA now. There is always a small but significant contingent of APP fans at the game, even the mid-week ones. Nice stadium and it is easy to get great seats on the visitor side. You can also fly nonstop from CLT into Baton Rouge (BTR), which is only an hour's drive from Lafayette.

New Orleans to Lafayette is about a 2 1/5 hour drive all interstate. If you are in the Charlotte area, Allegiant has cheap flights from Concord direct to NO.BayouApp wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 10:57 amI will be there, but it's easy for me since I live in New Roads, LA now. No kidding? My son got married in New Roads, La. in January 2020. Nice little place.BayouApp wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 10:57 amI will be there, but it's easy for me since I live in New Roads, LA now. Now, whenever I see the new Chevy truck commercials, I have to laugh. As I recall, the slogan is "Try New Roads!"
The newlyweds are living in Baton Rouge now.
And, I am planning a trip to Lafayette for the game. Hope to see you there! Yep, the Charlotte / Baton Rouge flight is the way to go.

Re: UL/App Game
We moved to New Roads last fall. Beautiful area...historic homes and water oaks with the moss hanging down. False River is actually an elbow lake, which was formed when the Mississippi changed course and left the lake. We got flooded in 2016 and were renting, but took the boat out on False River and found a townhouse for sale when driving around afterwards. Had not planned to move from Baton Rouge, but the price was low and too good to pass up. Lakefront is expensive but across the road from lake is affordable. I had not thought about that with the truck commercials. Hope to see you at the LA game as well.
