If there’s 35k or less I have a suspicion this will be our last BOA game. We have about 20k alumni alone in Metrolina. ECU likely has as many or more.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 9:29 amECU averaged in the mid-30Ks in 2019 for home games. App regularly gets 25 to 30K for decent opponents. The challenge for App is we don't know how the move to BofA stadium will impact the student attendance, but it's bound to decrease it somewhat. It might actually increase the other fan attendance but the move to Thursday night will offset. I will be disappointed if there aren't 35K fans in the stands for this game but there are a lot of moving parts so it's hard to say.

Unfortunately not all of the 20K are football fans, but we should get football fans who are not alumni of either school.ah59396 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 10:32 amIf there’s 35k or less I have a suspicion this will be our last BOA game. UNC-USC drew just over 52,000 in 2019 at BofA. As we get closer to game day I bet momentum will pick up and we’ll beat that #. Both schools should go ahead and promote a BOGO for upper deck tickets.

That was a Saturday. If the total number of fans is greater than 52,000 for a Thursday night game...that is a huge success in my opinion. Does anyone know how many have actually been sold to date?DontPlayWithYosef wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 11:56 amUNC-USC drew just over 52,000 in 2019 at BofA. The University should charter several buses for the students. We need to pack the place. I don't want to see Purple and Gold except the man sitting beside me and my brother on the other side (both went to ECU).

Definitely. That was also UNC and South Carolina, both of which - much as our fans may not want to admit it - have a lot more fans than App and ECU.Tbatchelor1977 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 2:21 pmThat was a Saturday. Re: Big Attendance for ECU game
Other than the obvious of wanting to win, this game is going to be big for us. We get to demonstrate how well (or not) app nation shows up in a big game in what is supposed to be one of our biggest alumni markets. The move to Thursday definitely hurt some.
Although the stadium was much smaller, app nation showed up big time for the game at UNCC a couple years ago. Hoping for the same this year, just on a much bigger scale. Already bought 8 tix on the 50 yard line up top

This is my sentiment as well. The numbers on the scoreboard will matter most. But attendance will be a close second.JPatH3292 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 2:56 pmOther than the obvious of wanting to win, this game is going to be big for us. If we want to recruit and play like a big time program, we need to have funding and support like one too. My group bought 10 tickets and about half of them didn’t attend App State.

Re: Big Attendance for ECU game
The ticket price for that game (which was set by the promoter, I believe) was $95 for all seats. Casual fans (or general sports fans) were priced out.Tbatchelor1977 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 2:21 pmThat was a Saturday. My daughter has a full ride to ECU next year and they sent her an email allowing her to buy as many as she wanted for $25. Hopefully App does the same near kickoff.

I’ll be there. We need to win. Got three family members (nephew, brother-in-law, another nephew) that are ECU grads. As much as I’ve hammered them over the years about their team, it’ll be brutal if we don’t win.

Can all ECU students buy a $25 ticket while only SYC members at App can buy a ticket at $25?spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:32 pmMy daughter has a full ride to ECU next year and they sent her an email allowing her to buy as many as she wanted for $25. If so, that would be a huge mistake by our admin.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: Big Attendance for ECU game
52000 for a weekday all G5 matchup with ECU being turds the last few years would be quite the accomplishment. This would be the clearest indicator that we are the top G5 brand in the Charlotte market.DontPlayWithYosef wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 11:56 amUNC-USC drew just over 52,000 in 2019 at BofA. I'll be there with 4, maybe 5 if I can convince my ECU grad brother to fly from SoCal to CLT.

Congrats to your daughter on the scholly. I guess that means that you will be writing a fat check to the Mountaineer Athletic Fund for the next four years.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:32 pmMy daughter has a full ride to ECU next year and they sent her an email allowing her to buy as many as she wanted for $25. Or it could be a huge incentive to join SYC.JTApps1 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:59 amCan all ECU students buy a $25 ticket while only SYC members at App can buy a ticket at $25?spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:32 pmMy daughter has a full ride to ECU next year and they sent her an email allowing her to buy as many as she wanted for $25. I like the idea of trying to get SYC membership signup first but then I would hope we unleash as many and as cheap as possible to the students. Some of them with tight budgets need to be educated on parking at the train and taking the train to the stadium. Tailgate at the train stop for $5 ride the train to the stadium. I hope we have a big student turn out.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:37 amOr it could be a huge incentive to join SYC.JTApps1 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:59 amCan all ECU students buy a $25 ticket while only SYC members at App can buy a ticket at $25?spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:32 pmMy daughter has a full ride to ECU next year and they sent her an email allowing her to buy as many as she wanted for $25. Re: Big Attendance for ECU game
I'm all for giving incentives for students to join SYC, but it's not a good look when the perk if free for students at the other school. It comes off as a money grab not an incentive.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:37 amOr it could be a huge incentive to join SYC.JTApps1 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:59 amCan all ECU students buy a $25 ticket while only SYC members at App can buy a ticket at $25?spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:32 pmMy daughter has a full ride to ECU next year and they sent her an email allowing her to buy as many as she wanted for $25. Re: Big Attendance for ECU game
As we all know, we don’t always know the plan from our administration. It could just be a way to offer to SYC members first. Looking at it from another perspective, if I was a current student and dropped $25 to join the SYC, I would be pissed if I wasn’t able to get tickets at a discount because Joe Student got them all. I’m not disagreeing with your point, because I agree with your premise. Just looking at it from a different angle.
