Boone Hidden Gems

All, as you can tell, I am a Marshall fan. I will be traveling down next week with my wife for the game. Anyone can Google all the cool things to do in Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, etc but I want to know the hidden gems. The places to eat with views, the best hikes, all the hidden gems and things to do you guys suggest as natives.

Suggest away fellas. Good luck next weekend (but not too much!)

If you want a short hike with great view of Linn Cove Viaduct, I would highly recommend Rough Ridge stop on Blue Ridge Parkway. About 30 to 40 minutes up at a slow to medium pace.

Howard Street Station BBQ has a decent rooftop as well if The Horton is busy.

If you are venturing out of Boone, I'd hit Bistro Roca in Blowing Rock. It's a cozy little place just outside of downtown. Walk the Carriage roads at Moses Cone and wander around downtown some. Another good hike is Elk Knob, one of the highest mountains in the county and probably not as busy as the parkway.
