Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams

COASTAL CAROLINA: UNDEFEATED
Similarly to Cincinnati in the American, it is just difficult to find any other teams in the Sun Belt that compare to what Coastal Carolina is capable of on the football field. Here sits the AP No. 15 team in the nation — complete with a top-10 defense and top-10 offense — sitting in a league where not any of the other nine teams in the league are ranked. An Oct. 20 road trip to Appalachian State and a potential conference championship date with Louisiana are games where the Chanticleers could be potentially in for a bit of a fight, but that is about it. And is picking against the Jamey Chadwell's group in either of those two matchups really something you can feel confident about? Looks like the happy times in Conway will not be ending any time soon.
One "real" season removed from a 13-1 season and we apparently can't compare to what Coastal Carolina (who is 1 and 6 against us all time) is capable of.......

Only one thing can stop the CCU love fest and that’s a big fat L.
I’m sure the team doesn’t like it either and will do their best to end it.

Oh they don't like it at all. And things that were said and done on the field (and after) in Conway last year have our guys extra motivated for Oct. 20. That said, we are 100% focused on LaLa right now.

I believe that. I would imagine though that after ULL our guys will be 10000% hyped for the game and you won't see any of them tired of complaining or dragging not even once at practice. I am pretty sure our guys will have adrenaline going at a high level.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:35 pmOh they don't like it at all. In fact, anyone notice our injured guys all seem to be coming back gradually over the 10-14 days prior to the CCU game? Any chance some have been good enough to go but did not want to push too early and have come back for GSU and ULL to get in game shape just in time for CCU?

Re: Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams
What cracks me up is two years ago in a driving rain storm we missed a field goal against southern that kept us from going undefeated. We beat an acc and sec school that year. We smoked coastal AGAIN that year. We also ran through our bowl. It was a pretty special season but did we really get any props after that season? Not really. Coastal has had exactly ONE good season. They beat a last second byu team and lost their bowl game in the midst of a pandemic by the way and now no one wants a piece of them? What planet am I on? App will be the first legit opponent they’ve played this year. As they’ve feasted on cupcakes. I am very much looking forward to oct 20.

Coastal looks great again this year. Will probably embarrass Arkansas State tonight based on what I’m seeing so far. I’m not sure why our fanbase gets so hot and bothered by their success. Until someone beats them, they deserve the recognition they are getting.
They win and do it convincingly.

CCU had their game bumped by volleyball, no chance in hell they move our game with them to a more desired day.

Re: Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams
I think most folks on here would agree CCU is a pretty good team. Are they truly as good as advertised (#15 in the country)? That remains to be seen since they have an extremely weak schedule to this point of the season.ah59396 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 6:54 pmCoastal looks great again this year. They took the opportunity that presented itself and ran with it. Good on them. We all would love to have what they have right now. Am I tired of hearing about them? Sure, but let them keep winning and getting all recognition and praise. When they come to Boone, they’ll be brought back down to reality.ah59396 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 6:54 pmCoastal looks great again this year. Looking at their schedule so far this year they have given up 40 or more points in every game.

Re: Article: Projecting the First Loss for the Remaining Undefeated Teams
I turned the Ark St CCU game off-not because I didn’t like the outcome, but because I couldn’t listen to the announcers continue to lose themselves over CCU.
CCUs fbs opponents have as many wins between them as CCU has on its own. They may as well be playing Horry High. Western would beat some of the teams on that schedule.
Their offense looks like it has a ton of misdirection to it, but I’m not overly impressed with their defense. A lot of dropped passes from AState.

Arky receivers can’t catch a cold and their defensive backs suck bad.

Don't forget that the mullets walked in during the first quarter of the Myrtle Beach Bowl and as expected from a rival, sat down in the North Texas section and actively started cheering for UNT. Plenty of motivation.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:35 pmOh they don't like it at all.
