I understand that Coastal has a great team, but if we had their same schedule this season, we'd be 6-0 as well. Success breeds complacency so I hope Coastal is feeling really good about themselves.

And don't forget that mighty Coastal was lucky to escape the Mountaineers last year.

We had the ball and the lead midway through the fourth quarter and threw a bad interception. Still had the lead with three minutes remaining and had a chance to re-take the lead.
They executed in the final 8 minutes and we didn't. But, they didn't out-talent us. We outgained them, had more first downs, and led Time of Possession. Penalties, Turnovers and late game execution was the difference.

If we play clean football in a big game (which has been a problem), we win.

This is one App tradition I would like to see broken forever! Does not matter if Weds night or a prime time kickoff on a Saturday.....seats will not reach gluteus maximus until late first quarter and will begin exodus around late third quarter and mass exit in the fourth guarter especially if temps drop into 40s like a perfect corregraph. Does not matter if game is close or a blowout. That is the App way historically with very very very few exceptions. You want to call ourselves a great football fanbase? IMO the 12th man at App State needs to be called out worse than Coaches and players!

I share you frustration with folks leaving early but take a look at stands for most of our sunbelt brotheren. We’re doing pretty darn good. And again, the students have been awesome this year, best student turn out since the FCS days.

Mjohn.....it's the Alums and other fanbase I poke at the most.

I agree student fanbase has been great.

And I don't want to compare to other SBC brethren....I want to see us be the best per stadium size and compare to P5 successful fanbase W Or L. A few FCS programs do it as good as us sometimes if not better.

We need raffle lotteries with high odds of winning cold hard cash called out in fourth quarter....would have long term benefits.
