POST GAME -

I tried to go back and read the Game Thread but it was so bad I had to stop - so this is for post-game reflection ---
1. those complaining about the end of the 1st half game management are wrong - Coach played it right under the circumstances - You don't stop the clock well into your own territory with 2nd and long nor 3rd and long - it would only give CC more time if we don't make a first and have to punt - as it turned out with the fumble they only had one play before the FG - if we had called TO they could have gotten off 3-4 plays -
2 - Chase was great as he was on target the entire game and that keeper for the 1st down was classic - it fooled me totally
3 - not a fan of giving the ball to Nate on 4th and 1 - that is a call for Cam
4 - Malik was outstanding and Corey had a great 2nd half
5 - DEFENSE dominated them from the middle of 3rd on and stuffed their running game the entire game ---
Many others - you guys chip in ---
Wow - won't be going to bed anytime soon

The crowd. Unreal stuff. That one series where coastal had to take a TO because they couldn’t communicate, then they come out and false start. That’s the rock.

Crowd was phenomenal
Chase was on target except for one to Horn. The incompletions we're primarily good defense or a drop.
Still would like to see 6 on defense play closer to lime from time to time.
Cam is making serious strides as a running back. Last year, I thought he benefited from some lesser talented teams. He is more patient to find hole versus just running up to line. Hope he gets healthy
OL got better as game went on.
Although he had a fumble, esctatic to see 4 back at RB

I was at the game and agree with what you said.
We played it right going into halftime but you just can't fumble. That's not on the coach.
Great atmosphere!

After Coastal went up 14-0, the defense gave up one long TD drive the rest of the game.
Coastal’s second best drive from that point was 7 plays, 22 yards.
We outgained Coastal by 229 yards (575 to 346) and held them to 55 yards on 29 carries. They were behind the sticks most of the second half
Our only real negatives were the fumbles.

Another thing - the announcers - I like Anish and Luckinbill a lot and see them on Packer and Durham and they are very good and very knowledgeable but I watched the entire 2nd half with the sound off - I honestly believe ESPN has told their people to hype Coastal every chance they can ---

Just got home at 1:40 am. Should be fun to get kids up at 6am.
Glad I was wrong with what I expected from the crowd and team.

Heres the difference between last nights game and the UL game: App controlled the line of scrimmage in the 2nd half on both sides of the ball. Coastal looked gassed by the 4th qtr and App looked like every position player was in better shape than Coastal’s. Coach Clark commented on it and said he hadnt seen Coastal play 4 qtrs yet.

If I’m reading the stats correctly Coastal had 13 net yards in the 4th quarter. I think we had over 10 TFL plays in the game. I’ve always thought that stats can be deceiving especially when you talk about a team who has played half a season against inferior teams. Not hard to rack up gaudy numbers against UMass and Kansas but we brought it last night when needed.

Okay was it just me or did they turn the stadium volume down for the broadcast?. That timeout and false start on coastals last drive - couldn’t really hear the crowd yet you knew it was rocking.
