Re: Stink game thread
Is it really hard for some of you on this board to comprehend that we won’t always beat every team we play by 50? My God.
Great way to finish the season. It’s always nice to get a win, makes it even better when it’s against southern. Credit to them for the first half. They did a great job controlling the clock. I think their first possession was 10 minutes long. Our defense is something to see. Offense was lackluster. Had a few home runs that just didn’t connect. I’d rather us get it out of our today.
I sat on the “home” side today for the first time in years. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not as loud as I remember. Lots of folks around us were more worried about their next beer or taking their picture than cheering loud on defense or getting into the game in general. Maybe I’m just getting older or the diehard fans sold their tickets with it being the holiday weekend, but 3rd downs seemed tame outside the student section.

They were sending two rushers side by side at Chase the whole game. Got him twice and hurried him often. Stink had a good game plan drawn up for our offense.

Re: Stink game thread
We won the game without a doubt against a hated rival that has reeked havoc on our season more that once. In this game I am happy with any margin of victory, even an solitary point. But today I got much more. I got a 24 point ass whopping and I am more than happy with that. Many of you that have never played competitive sports at a high level and don't realize that the other team tries hard as we do, especially your rivals. It is why rivalry games always have a storyline of their own. Hell, Auburn with an injured back up quarterback still took the almighty Crimson Tide to 4 OVERTIMES today, Michigan beat THE Ohio State for the first time in 9 years today, etc. Rivalry games are just different and that includes App State v. Georgia Southern. We won the game, it was ugly, but we won and all that matters his how we play next week in Lafayette. All App fans should enjoy this win, enjoy this season and be THANKUFL for our coaching staff and team. They want it more than any of us and they show it every game on the field. We need to let them all know how much we appreciate their effort for out school.

A good article in the w-s journal about seniors for APP.I'm going to miss those guys. We've got some great players coming up,but they are going to have to learn quick. We still have some unfinished business with La. and the bowl game.I'm very proud of my Apps.We can win.Shawn is a coach that cares about App football.

The Hennigan post game presser is classic. It should be a motivational video on it’s own. “Separation is over-rated”….”See you guys in the end zone”

Re: Stink game thread
Certainly happy for the win over Stink. A few observations:
The first half was frustrating, especially for the many of us who sat through Halloween 2019.
We never really established any offensive rhythm.
Once again, penalties hurt us.
We had too many 3rd and 9s while they had too many 2nd and 3s
Their punter was booming it and keeping us pinned back.
Hennigan and Staton will be missed probably even more than we realize.
The defense was great, in spite of being on the field almost the entire first half.
No complaints of the crowd, considering most students were still at home for Thanksgiving.
Listening to the post-game show on the way home, coach was upbeat but he did say the players weren’t happy in the locker room- that makes me feel good about our return trip to Lafayette.
Thank you seniors and super seniors. Finish strong!

Limited playing time for People’s and I didn’t see Roof. Grier was out a lot in the 2nd half. Injuries or COach decision?

Re: Stink game thread
The ACC will suffer mightily with a neutral CCG this year. Wake vs. Pitt will not draw the casual fan and Wake does not have a large enough fan base to make an impact.
I don’t know where the Sun Belt would locate a CCG that would be a more attractive draw travel wise vs. the opposing campus stadium for “visiting” fans. A better play might be to get an official airline sponsor that could arrange affordable flights on a short term basis.

Re: Stink game thread
Clark said in the post game presser that Roof was among 7 players who caught the flu late in the week. He was the only one mentioned by name and apparently, some were able to play through it.

Re: Stink game thread
I imagine getting a flu vaccine now would not help for next weekend but getting a flu vaccine a few weeks ago more than likely would be helpful for the coming week.
I will be more surprised if the flu does not spread amongst the team than if it does unless the majority of the team already had the flu vaccine for this year.
Of course the flu vaccine is not 100% but it does help recovery and minimizes the worst parts of getting the flu and would help get the team as close to 100% as possible for next Saturday.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

We usually have to replace some assistants... And Mrs. Sloan REALLY likes Boone...
I have no intel on this one right now, but it would not surprise me if he came back.
But he will also have other options...

I’m not sure how I’d feel about this. I don’t mind coaches going and coming back, but he went THERE. True Appalachian people don’t go THERE.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 10:11 pmWe usually have to replace some assistants... And Mrs. Sloan REALLY likes Boone...
