I think WVAppeer summed it up. Yes, the OL can improve but implying they need to be "fixed" is just not accurate. I'm sure we'll have some growing pains but I think the future looks very bright, even for 2022 with all the losses to graduation. Having Brice back is a huge plus.

It's great to Mountaineer!

Kanye Roberts from Wallace Rose Hill who is a commit has 12 catches out of the backfield this year including 4 TD catches. I just watched his video on 247 and he looks awesome. I’m not calling for him to start or anything, but hoping he gets some PT next year and gives us a receiving threat out of the backfield.

One thing to keep in mind - You Don't get to play for the Championship if you don't beat the teams in your division - So no, for me, I build my team to win my division because of what I just pointed out and because for all we know Texas St might be the Championship opponent -

I watched his video too and I agree 100%. He looks very comfortable flairing out of the backfield and catching the ball. Why does a guy who looks like that on film not have a 24/7 rating?

I've been keeping up with him. I think he can be a special player. Had 5 tds and over 300yrs rushing last week in the semi-finals against one of the #1 seeds. He will be fun to watch.

Were we? We still averaged 5 yards per carry.

For me - it is looking improve the product and always looking for improvement. My view is more that of scheme and mis-direction. I am sure you have notice when Brice does a fake handoff - it is usually into thin air.
*
I am agreement we have the talent - seems like we should add wrinkles to the offense. We have plenty of talent at RB and WR - just need to give the opposing defense more to think about and get them into space. Also, I believe the statement that we only have 2 running plays is a little much. Most of the contenders make changes as needed to continue their success.
*
Also, I do recall Coach Moore making a change in the day - from the power I to the spread - Satt was also involved. That change allowed the program to grow and the result was 3 AA championships. We are not re-inventing the wheel - just looking to expand the bag of tricks.

State fans are pining for him to receive an offer. I heard that his high school coach did not make his game film visible and that has had an impact on his recruiting.

Yes. They had inadvertently locked the access to HUDL.

Whatever adjustments they made at halftime, they stunted our running game.

Carries by RB's in the second half:
1 yard, 4 yards, -1 yard, 4 yards, No Gain (on second and 1), No Gain (on third and 1, settled for a FG), 4 yards, 1 yard, -1 yard, 6 yards (Harrington on the penultimate drive, possibly against a different scheme), 9 yards (Harrington again)
Our backs had 11 carries for 27 yards in the second half.

The fans definitely want him, but not sure they will offer. They already have a 4 star committed and I don't think NC State will offer unless they are 100% sure he will commit. Can't be in the business of losing a commit to App State.

I know this topic is supposed to be about Brice returning and it’s transitioned to everyone or everything else like running backs so I’ll ask- why were the coaches so dead set on some running back rotation? If it was Noel’s turn he was in for the whole series no matter what the situation. Same for Cam and DH. I think NN was phenomenal this year but how many times did we have 3rd and 2 and needed to just pound the ball for a first down- with Cam? Nope not his turn apparently so it was live or die with Nate.

Interesting question on the short yardage. I went a pulled the play charts for each game and found it surprising. I looked at every play that was 3rd down and 3 or less and charted the outcome. We had a total of 40 such plays. 31 runs and 9 passes. Of the 31 runs on 3rd and 3 or less. Noel was 8/13 on getting the first down. Cam was 4/11. Brice was 3/3, Harrington was 0/1, Castle was 1/2 and Montgomery was 1/1. On 4th down and less than 3: Cam was 3/4 and Noel, Brice and Harrington were all 1/1. Seems that Nate wasn’t a bad option if not a better one.

Lack of rating could be because they think his look stats etc are due to the offense they run. I think its some type of wing t which nobody plays against like facing ga southern. Their top 3 rbs all have over a thousand yards and average over 10 yards a carry. Teams in the east also have good offenses but not so much defense. i seriously doubt they have even attempted 100 passes through 15 games. He does look good on film. They play Shelby this week for the state championship so i'm anxious to see his numbers against them.

Yes - sure that is correct - But your goal has to be the initial hurdle - If you don't clear that one, all the plans/moves/talk of winning something bigger is gone -

As my team prepared for the upcoming season our One Immediate Goal was to win the conference and in doing that we would have a chance to reach greater heights -

Hey, you don't have to agree, just telling you my philosophy

A third of our rushing yards were on one play. Our most consistent ground gainer was the QB running for his life.Southern held us to less than a hundred as I recall the week prior.I'm not saying to tar and feather the O line but we have issues that have to be fixed if we are going to win championships. We had the skill players , and the Defense to win this thing .Shawn knows it .
