Back to Football transfers, I saw that Cole Strange from UTC got drafted in the first round. He is a big 6'5" 307 lb OT. These are the types of dudes that would be good candidates to pickup after a couple years in FCS and App would be a great destination for them, assuming all the other intangibles fit our model.

Question. If you had to choose, would you rather App win ball games or put guys in the NFL? I get what your asking, but not all parts are meant to fit in the engine.

I think his point is that there are players in the FCS that could use the transfer portal to move up to App and add value to App. It may be the Chattanooga/UTC has better NIL deals than APP/Boone....more money in bigger cities.

Thank you. I got his point. I’m sure that there are players that could be beneficial to both sides. My point, was that not everyone out there is a good fit. Alex Taylor couldn’t crack our lineup, transferred down to SC St., and got drafted. Thank you though.

I am of the opinion that offensive linemen are one of the main positions where the whole recruiting/ranking process can really miss. I know these guys get graded out but lots of unknowns can happen. You get a 6’3” 275lb guy who is strong as a bull in high school who gets no looks from either a P5 or even a larger G5. Then the kid grows 2” his freshman year and adds 30lb of beef. Now at his middling FCS (so to speak) he’s a beast. He either transfers up or stays the course and still gets noticed by the pros.

This is the third DB transfer in so far. We got a guy who has size but played for a bad D2 team, a guy who has decent size and played in all games for a P5 and now a smaller FCS standout.

Were we really that thin at DBs?

The first guy that you listed changed his mind and committed to Kentucky.

To answer your last question, yes.

As 94 noted, it's really two, since one of them already bounced.

To answer your question, we only returned (depending on whether certain guys slot at corner vs. safety) I believe two corners who have ever played in a game, and four total. Our current two-deep potentially includes two true freshmen and a converted wide receiver. So... pretty thin.

Yeah. Some internet sites are VERY late in picking it up. I posted it back on March 5th.
