Maybe Burger will eventually beat out Tabscott, maybe not. Being ahead of him after one spring practice season doesn't guarantee anything.

Even if he is, Tabscott may technically "see the field" first in that he might be more likely to get mop-up duty since he's already used his redshirt.

Tabscott will see the field before Berger😏
He may see the field before Berger. Doubt he sees it before Burger.
Spell check likes the “u” more so than “e”. Corrected it as soon as I saw. DC will still get there first.

I'm penciling in Bucky Williams at Center.Could be an upgrade at that position. Not sure about left tackle.

Quite possible. We have a great deal of versatility in the middle. We have six guys that can play guard and three of those guys plus Everette can play Center.

‘94, what do you know about where we stand on DBs? Lockdown corners are key to our defensive scheme IMO.

To be blunt, and I’m sure Moose would agree, that we have some concerns. Outside of Jones and the kid transferring in from Central Connecticut, we don’t have significant experience at the position. We have talent, but it isn’t talent that you feel comfortable rolling out there without concerns of consistency. Tucker is in line to possibly start opposite Jones and he started last year as a WR. I feel like Philyaw and Johnson could develop into starters, and people on here feel like they need to play to get better, but that comes with risks. But who knows, maybe one of them turns into the next Clifton Duck.

Thanks ‘94, I too, am concerned… We have been blessed with top quality undersized DBs - Duck, Hayes, Jean-Charles Cone and Jolly have taking care of business over the past few years. Jones is the next good one, hoping 3 more are ready to step up and keep the Legion of Boone leading the conference.

Someone with a better memory than I please remind me who we had on the roster at CB going into the Tennessee game before we learned that Duck would start? Did we have concerns about the secondary talent and depth heading into that fall camp?

Had to dig for this one to pull it back to the surface. We obviously lost a bunch of catches with receiver graduation. I'm assuming that the Christian's will start near the top of the depth chart. Aside from them who are we looking at? Does anyone but me feel like we are gonna even more run heavy this year? I don't doubt ability by any means but we haven't had this kind of newness at the position in many moons.

Dalton Stroman, the redshirt freshman WR from Rockingham who played some in the Boca Bowl, has gotten lots of praise from Clark. Said he can catch the ball all over the field and even said at Sun Belt Media Day that he could end up being one of the best players in App history.

I get the feeling he might be a bit like Quick in that he needs refinement in run blocking, screen blocking and stuff like that.

Dashaun Davis is another whose name has been mentioned for starting WR. Gotta think Robinson from UCF and Pinckney could figure in as well.

They think he can be a mega star. We will see but it is good to hear it. With all the debates here and at 247 about who the best QB is in the league this year we know that McCall and Brice both have a lot of new names to throw the ball to so it will be interesting to see the timing and anticipation early on with these guys.

Don't forget about the transfer from SMU-Tyler Page. Lots of experience and good speed.

I watched some of Page’s highlights from high school (where he played QB) and thought he showed great speed and ability to change directions quickly. Wonder if he might return punts and/or kicks some.

I was about to ask about Page. Could he be our go to possession receiver, with the occasional big play? I’m thinking a Thomas Hennigan replacement.

Also, what’s the word in the Arkansas LB transfer? He certainly looks the part, and has some SEC playing experience.

I heard them say he is a beast but it is interesting that he left Arkansas. According to magazines they have 2 starting LBs and so he would have been their top backup. Some NFL people have him on their list of prospects at App. It shows how good SEC teams are that they have backups who are legit NFL prospects.
