From GoASU Twitter:
Yosef Club raised over $600,000 in April following the FBS announcement.
From GoASU.com:

$603,300 is the exact number, well past the prior record of $434,370 set last April. Very encouraging news.

Our slogan for 2013 is 1+1=6K We need each member to renew AND bring in 1 new member! The Spring Tours are almost complete and have had 100+ attedance at all which is great! So the excitment is there. We just need to continue the momentum and not let up. The Appalachian Family is alive & well indeed. Keep telling our story and bring in those new members....especially those young alums! Thanks for all you support!

Awesome. Looks like the impact of the "I'm cutting my donations if we go FBS crowd" was minimal.
The future is bright!

I know a guy here in Hickory whose son-in-law went to ASU, daughter went State...and he has been to a few APP games and had a good time but I can't imagine he ever thought about giving to Yosef or the school in general. He really has no connection other than the son-in-law but when we announced the move he told me he was going to start giving to Yosef, at a small level, to begin accumulating points so that he can stand a chance at better seats if he wants to purchase season tickets down the road, when we start playing FBS quality schools in Boone. I imagine guys like him outweigh the "Give me Furman or give me death" crowd by a good majority, and it appears the early numbers back that theory up.

Paid $500 in full for 2013 back in Feb. At this rate, will have to increase 2014 with the Sunbelt move, but it's worth it. Great news!

wow, these are great numbers, really supports the decison that was made to move up, but, not trying to be too picky here, imagine what they could raise if they aggressivley went after donation dollars, through the years I have heard from, the baseball team, academic fund raisers, general fund raisers, etc, but as far as I can remember, I have not recieved any information from the yosef club. I have a fixed amount I set each year to give to the school, my first rule is I give to the ones that reach out to me, until I hear from them, I guess my aligence will be to the baseball club, which isnt ofcourse a bad thing.

When I was an undergrad I had friends at NCSU that worked for the Wolf Pack club (or whatever they call it), making some extra cash sitting in their office calling alumni and explaining the perks of joining, pitching certain packages ect. One got to talk to Phillip Rivers once.
Do we do anything like that? I'm not aware if we do. Such aggressive marketing would really help in this crucial time IMO.

We certainly do! Is your information up to date in the Goldbook?

I'm pretty sure that is the resource they draw back on when contacting alumni. I know I was called relentlessly until I spoke with someone. A student was on the other end of the line most likely getting some extra cash like you said, while doing some great work for Appalachian.

To all the FBS naysayers... Game, Set and Match.

Not a naysayer myself, but I wouldn't go as far as match. Let's wait and see how those attendance numbers look after a couple of years gearing up our recruits and building our depth to compete on a regular basis in the FBS. And having to sit through some potential lean years.

Talked to Gerald tonight at baseball and he said since they waited on the football schedule to be completed they really started about 2 months behind. No bad!

The naysayers will nay until their graves. Too much pride in some folks.
Having said that: This is very good news for AppState and another sign our leaders made the right decision.

Thought this was about record setting donations to Yosef, not attendance.

You are absolutely right. I'll hold on to my comment for a later date.

Yosef does pull Goldbook info in trying to contact alums. Last year, I sent about 300 young alum e-mails recruiting for Yosef. I'd say about 25% were bounced back ... mostly from young alums whose @appstate.edu addresses expired. It would be a great help if every alum updated his or her info.
The single biggest recruiting tool we have is every current Yosef member. If each of us brings in one new member, we'll reach the 6000 mark. As TO says, 1+1=6000.

We do for the general alumni fund. They've called me several times over the years.
