An unpopular opinion for some, but seats on the hill, if done right can make a huge impact on Gameday. Put the band on the hill, allow students to spread out behind the bench the length of the stands and the stadium gets even louder.
This is the ideal setup in my opinion.

Next buildout I want to see is more concessions and restrooms at South end of both sections. And then the luxury suites back of East section.

Agree with you on a buildout of concessions in the South Endzone. It makes sense from the position that people can wait in line without missing any game action. Of course, additional concessions would require additional staffing, which was in short supply last season.

The good thing is none of this is actually happening (or is planned right now). This whole conversation started over temporary SEZ bleachers being brought in for the UNC game that may or may not be left in place for the season.

It was hinted and theorized that this could be a dry run feasibility test for future permanent SEZ seats.

Given our future schedules, it’d be impossible (and unnecessary) to plan and build permanent seating by ECU 9/16/23. The next “need” for permanent seats likely wouldn’t be until 2025 when we currently only have 1 OOC home game scheduled vs Toledo. If a big opponent is scheduled in ‘25 you might see a push to finish construction by then.

My opinion: just as temporary seats in the NEZ begat a new NEZ facility, temporary seats in the SEZ will be seen as an opportunity to up charge for a permanent seat later (compared to GA tickets) - AND - fans who get a chance to sit in a temporary SEZ seat will really enjoy the experience of being closer to the field, at which point the call from fans to install permanent seats will increase. I sat in the NEZ temporary bleachers a few times and really liked it. I like moving around the stadium and seeing it from all different perspectives.
There are far more than 5,000 students going to the games. They are the ones paying most of the bills. They should have seats.

We can call KBS a 30k stadium all we want but it doesn't have anywhere close to 30,000 seats.
Well, try to get 5K seats on Miller Hill without taking in the concourse or going two bleacher sets high and relocating the Media Board. Maybe it can be done, but I don't see how. As to seats. Students in the present student section, don't sit down anyway. They stand butt to butt, shoulder to shoulder the entire game every time I've sat above them.
Where did you get 5,000 seats from? No one said 5k and there is no way that there are 5k there on any given Saturday. The talk was to put 3000 there and it is completely doable. The playing field is 53 yds wide. Add say 20 yards to each side and you have 279’ of space. Each seat is 18” wide so that’s 186 people per row. So to accommodate 3k, you need 16.12 rows. Let’s call it 17. So if you put in two sets of 10 rows, you can get 3720 people inside a 40 ft wide section across the length of the hill. There is your visual. You’re welcome.
Never argue with the mathematician. 94 has clearly done the work and validated the concept.

Besides, when we start arguing about shrubs up on the hill...it is WAY past time for the start of football season.

Whatever happened to letting other athletic teams (like wrestling or track) operate some of the concession stands? Wasn't that a common practice for years? They operate a stand in return for a portion of the proceeds for their respective programs. I can recall many a game where this was done and I had no problem getting my drink or food (quickly). Once the concessions got farmed out to a company it went south.

You can thank more stringent food code for some of these limitations. Another thing to keep in mind that the while staffing shortages are partially to blame, there are a few thousand more people attending games now than just 10-15 years ago.

The concessions and bathroom facilities were designed to accommodate 18,000.

Call me crazy, but some additional vending machines selling bottled water could really help out with the congestion and long lines at concessions. But selling more water maybe doesn't help queues at the bathrooms during games.

At 5 dollars a bottle..I would have gatorade and water vending machines lined up. Or special fundraising missions lined up with collers full amd give them 1 dollar per bottle for working it. It may be in our contract that we can't.

Sounds like a clever idea. You could even have people prepay and just pick it up as they roll into the stadium.

Those would be right in line with current pricing. I say yes. Do it.

As long as it’s Hate Week with the gumroots, I see no problem here.

Guess my idea has at least a little traction. Introduce it this year and then offer with a $10 discount next year for season ticket holders.

I hope we keep allowing folks to bring in a bottle of unopened water this year. That helped a lot. I liked the way they had free cold water stations around Kenan Stadium when our boys played there. Bought a couple of soft drinks early on, then refilled the cups with water later.
