How’s it feel…? Post-JMU
…to get taken out to the woodshed and worked up and down the field? I hope I eat every ounce of crow for going here with this, but this team better wake tf up if they have aspirations of doing anything this season. We got outplayed, outcoached, outworked and any other verb you want to use with our performance yesterday. We deserve any and all criticism and mockery based on yesterday’s game performance. I’ve seen embarrassed, ashamed, soft, cupcakes, overrated; and I agree with all of them! Every single player and coach is responsible because we failed in so many areas. 28-3 and we blow it!
To top it all, we’re down or have blown the majority of the lead, and we have defensive players celebrating after plays where yards were still given up. Coaches should run these guys every day until players are no longer celebrating unless we’ve scored or def has held the opponent to zero yards or negative yard plays. Get control of your team, Coaches. You talk about developing boys into men….we have more boys playing than men to date this season. I’ll always pull for and root for App state, I’m just completely embarrassed by yesterday.

I’ve now watched two teams come to the rock and really dominated us . This shows us what we got imo.

How does it feel? It feels like the day after losing to VMI in 94.

When you have a QB that is as good as the JMU QB was you win a lot of games.
He's fast, he's accurate, strong arm and had players around him.
That's a recipe for winning.

If you take it back the last 5 or 6 games, something is seriously wrong. That’s how it feels. We have a soft team and soft coaches that allowed an FCS team DOWN 25 POINTS to get off the mat and beat us in our own house.

We are 2-4 and should be 1-5.
24,59,63,14,28,32 points allowed
This is not a good trend...

It feels like every other Sunday. I wake up, I cook my daughter/wife some breakfast go to the grocery store, watch the Panthers lose, grill something for dinner, and go to bed to wake up to the next work week.
We lost. While I hate we did and especially in that fashion, it’s not the end all be all like some make it out to be. Sun still came up today. I agree that there are changes that are needed, but I nor any of us can do anything about it. We have played 4 very tough games and had lots of emotions due to the attention. These are 18-21 kids who aren’t playing at Bama or Ohio State, or any other college that always has the spotlight on them. They come to App because of our culture of being a winning program that doesn’t get the accolades often. I’ll reserve my judgment until after the season is over because I still trust these coaches will make adjustments to get this team to our true potential.
Time to move on and focus on the citadel. We are going to learn a lot from this team in these upcoming weeks.

Re: How’s it feel…? Post-JMU
At the 6:14 mark of the third quarter we were up 28-10. I missed a good chunk of the game. Looked at the next possession that included 2 Castle runs, a sack and a punt. That "drive" pretty much ended it. First question- what happened to our offensive line yesterday from that point on? Secondly- are our backs made of glass? We have way too many missed games and possessions. Thirdly- if we get to the point in a big game where our running back option is a converted Watauga HS linebacker we are cooked. I mean zero disrespect to AC as I am sure he's giving it all he's got but don't we have a kid on the bench who put up video game numbers in high school? Are we saving him?

Feels even worse now knowing some on the football team went to Ale House after the game. I am assuming to celebrate something not many teams have done at App? Blow a 28-3 lead. Complete coaching incompetence. We will never take the next step forward with good ole buddies filing the coaching staff every year.

That celebrating makes me nuts. It is immature grandstanding and all about me. Celebrating while getting your ass kicked. Just makes you look stupid.teller wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 6:54 am…to get taken out to the woodshed and worked up and down the field? The tweets from the JMU football account and their coach are particularly brutal. They earned it though.Oh2bonh20 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:27 amI felt like crap last night, and then this morning this popped up in my feed...

It's gonna be a long while before we live this one down. It sucks.

Maybe it is time to stop the grandstand celebrating, and worrying about what " outfit " you are going to wear next game. Maybe it is time to get serious about the fundamentals of this game. This was a total embarrassment on both sides of the ball. I live in JMU country and knew they would come to play. What I didn't know is that we wouldn't.

They pushed us around, that's obvious looking at the replay. And our QB is ummm , slow afoot.
