Re: Weekend Weather
As long as the weather doesn’t cause logistical issues, there isn’t much reason not to attempt to play.

Re: Weekend Weather
Yup, I live here in Charleston. If they get out today or early tomorrow AM the game will be played. This game hinges on Citadel's safety, not what the weather in boone will be.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 11:45 pmCitadel is confirmed leaving early enough. Assuming they don't have travel issues or other extenuating circumstances, game will go on as scheduled as of now.
If the track of the storm changes, I could see them changing the time, but expect the game to be played on Saturday
Hopefully they leave today or tomorrow AM and get outta here before it floods. And then we take care of business and they can return to charleston safely.

Re: Weekend Weather
I know we have the diehard fans who seem to relish games played in ridiculous weather conditions and I get that it's not logistically easy to reschedule but it's pretty much a certainty that it will be really, really wet and windy all day. Sometimes it's just better to make a tough call and move on.

Re: Weekend Weather
if they do cancel or reschedule, when would they have to make that call? given that its already wednesday, I am guessing they'd have to decide soon?

Re: Weekend Weather
Unless Citadel has travel concerns, wind and rain should not cancel a football game. This isn't soccer or baseball (no offense to those sports, but rain alone does cancel those). It's looking like a low chance of severe weather.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 8:55 amI know we have the diehard fans who seem to relish games played in ridiculous weather conditions and I get that it's not logistically easy to reschedule but it's pretty much a certainty that it will be really, really wet and windy all day. Re: Weekend Weather
Going to get nasty down here. Wouldn't want to be in the Ft. Myers to Sarasota area right now. Storm looks to be following the path of Charlie in 2004.
Path from Port Charlotte to the east side of Orlando gonna get hammered. Should go back off shore near Palm Coast.
Latest says the storm is picking up speed which for us means stronger as it passes. Thankfully, we'll be on the western side of the eye. How close it comes will determine how much damage and how long the power is out.
Boone should get hit by a tropical depression sometime late Saturday into Sunday.

Yep, the Florida teams are not even canceling (at this time). They are relocating or changing the date.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 9:36 ambigdaddyg wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 8:55 amI know we have the diehard fans who seem to relish games played in ridiculous weather conditions and I get that it's not logistically easy to reschedule but it's pretty much a certainty that it will be really, really wet and windy all day. That's why I'm worried. My son and grandkids live in Palm Coast. We are praying for the best for all in Florida.Apptiger wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 10:17 amGoing to get nasty down here. Looks like things improved for Boone overnight and what I see says majority of wind/rain will be over by Saturday morning.

Really? I'm still hearing 6-8 inches and chance for flooding/landslides. I hope you're right!

Re: Weekend Weather
The hurricane center 8 AM update shows a tropical depression sitting over western NC at 2 PM on Saturday. I would expect wind and rain.
