APP STATE / THE CITADEL WX TREND
**WEDNESDAY UPDATE**
Heads up you all. It's looking pretty brutal for the game Saturday. I'm concerned about the potential for flooding and flash flooding. Rain and winds will be heavy and steady through the day.
I'll be honest, I'm not so certain I would advise making the trip to Boone for the game Saturday. What's left of Ian is likely to move in and park until it falls apart later Sunday into Monday.
As rain accumulates Friday night and Saturday, mud and landslides will become possible along with creek and stream flooding. Some roads could be flooded. It may be flat out not safe to travel on 321 and 421 departing Boone after the game.
Use your best judgment. Just don't become a news story.
----------------------
Well, it may fit the mood of late. But, as coach says, "This is our kind of football weather!".\
This will be brutal, slug it out, run it and throw a wet brick when you can, football. Who wants it more? We'll see.
-----------------
Cold rain and gusty winds. Soggy, soggy, soggy... Double up on Frog Toggs!
Mid 50s for the game.
If you can keep your feet and head dry, that will help keep you warm.
------------------
Let's burry this old FCS conference foe!

Jeff how the potential turn right toward the Atlantic affect the Boone area?

WXAPP, thank you for the updated information. I've only missed maybe 8 home games since 1985, but think I'm going to sit this one out. I was thinking the same about the flooding and flash flooding. With 6+ inches of rain it might be a little dangerous.

FYI - anyone in the Lake Norman area that are thinking of staying home - I confirmed that Hoptown in Mooresville will be playing the game. This is an Alumni owned business and where the Lake Norman Alumni Association host the away game viewing parties.

Re: APP STATE / THE CITADEL WX TREND
I’m not sure the game should even be played. I know it’s football, blah, blah, blah. But this may not be our typical rainy day game. It could get very dangerous for anyone who thinks it’s absolutely necessary to make the trip to Boone.

I won't need to make the decision to come as COVID has done it for me.

Re: APP STATE / THE CITADEL WX TREND
Just now received this email regarding Saturday's game so it looks like they're planning to have it as scheduled for now:
Hello North End Zone Season Ticket Holders!
I hope everyone on this email is having a great week! I wanted to reach out to this group and update everyone on when doors will open for the North End Zone this upcoming Saturday.
We have decided to move the pre-game meal for our student-athletes to be held in the Grandview Ballroom of the North End Zone building. Because of this, we will be adjusting when doors open so that our staff have time to flip the room and prepare for everyone to arrive.
Instead of the doors opening at 1:30pm (like prior weeks), that new time for this week will be 2:00pm. Please be aware that access to the fourth floor (Grandview Ballroom) will be restricted until 2:00pm.
Thank you all for understanding, and please let me know if you have any questions regarding this weekend. Make sure to bring your raincoats!
All the best,
Christian Case

Hopefully Citadel folks will be on the road early enough. They will be outrunning it to get to Boone zone Friday.
