Coastal Discussion
Will the good guys show up Thursday night and come away with a Victory?
Let's hope so.
I do have some questions can our defense stop McCall and his offense?
Is Cam Peoples playing hurt? Not very impressive today.
If he is at 100% there were several of our other backs hitting the hole a lot harder today.
BEAT COASTAL!
Let's hope so.

Re: Coastal Discussion
Cam is fine. Clark just has the weirdest dog house rotation of RB’s ever. Frustrating but this is year 3 of it, kinda is what it is at this point. But it was also robert morris, he was never goin to play much todayYosefus wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 7:01 pmWill the good guys show up Thursday night and come away with a Victory?

Re: Coastal Discussion
I don't have a clue which App team will show up. Will it be the TA&M, 2nd Half GSU, 1st half JMU App team to show up? or the TxSt, 2nd half JMU, middle 8 UNC App team to show up???
The 1st wins by a score or two. The latter loses convincingly by multiple scores.
This team has the talent to win out I believe. However, there's some weaknesses that's bringing about inconsistency on both sides of the ball. Can we figure it out and become consistent? Thursday will tell us.

I wish we were slightly more mobile at a key position. Some faster plays like RPO is a common denominator with a few of our opponents. They go fast.

Re: Coastal Discussion
I do think we may be as good a shape health wise to start the gauntlet as we could expect to be right now. Listened to post game presser. Coach said they kept Hampton and Cobb out.
I'm sure they'll need the extra few days after Coastal though.

Re: Coastal Discussion
I think we'll be pleasantly surprised on Thursday. CCU's a solid team, but even they fell to ODU by multiple scores and had close ones with "worse" teams. It'll be a good game!CoachRob wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 8:01 pmI don't have a clue which App team will show up. Marshall is bringing heat on nearly every play since the first quarter. If we depend on our front 3 no way. Dial up some looks.
And Marshall guys are dropping like flies

Re: Coastal Discussion
Marshall beat themselves tonight. Way to many chances on red zone. If our offense hits on all cylinders we can take the next 2 games with a W. Defense needs to show up but Marshall offense has issues and Coastal not nearly as prolific as they have been. But them again everyone plays their best vs App.

Re: Coastal Discussion
Year after year it’s something to watch Coastal opponents implode on themselves. The amount of their games in the last 3 years that have been close with the opposing team tripping over their own two feet is really something.

Re: Coastal Discussion
We are going to have trouble with Coastal's offense. I was pulling for Marshall tonight just to give Coastal another loss, but pulling for Coastal to not lose just before playing APP. We have a history of not being motivated for some games and playing flat, mix that with our slow starts this last month, I'm not confident we can beat the cocky crowd from Conway this year. Not sure who is responsible for motivating our players for important games, but they get a low grade over the last couple of years. If we come out flat for this one......

Re: Coastal Discussion
Hopefully resting a few of our D players like Hampton and Cobb will help us get pressure consistently Thursday. And really hope our “easy” home game helps vs their conference away game. Though since they are home the days prep from tomorrow to gameday are probably the same.

Huntington WV to Conway 7 hr 33 minutes
Boone to Conway 4 hr 40 minutes.
Plus easy game vs conference game.
+2.

According to Twitter it appears as though they flew to Huntington, so not truly as long.Yosefus wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:19 pmAdvantage us.biggie wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:11 pmHopefully resting a few of our D players like Hampton and Cobb will help us get pressure consistently Thursday. I think playing and winning a big conference game helps give them momentum leading into a Thursday night home game. Where as how much motivation can you really carry over after beating Robert Morris, and having a shorter week to get the team fired up for an away game.
If App can minimize or eliminate (less realistic) the mental mistakes on such a short week to prepare, then I feel pretty confident a win is definitely likely to happen. Then that momentum along with a couple days extra advantage should carry on well to Huntington.

Re: Coastal Discussion
Beach Chickens are suspect in secondary. They will be bringing pressure to make us hurry up on our throws. I would like to see some more running back screens to offset this. We had a great one set up in A&M game, however it was a dart of a throw that was difficult to catch..but the idea was golden.

Re: Coastal Discussion
Could be high scoring, I think we’ll need 35 or more to win. This defense has struggled mightily against an accurate and mobile QB and he’s the best since Maye we’ve faced this season.
If CCU wins they will win the division east.
