 What a joke.

They need to squeeze every bit of renown from this last year instead of being petty. 2/3 of "SoCon Fans" leave with App and GaSo.

Wofford @ Western over App @ Furman... that's just bad business.

I'm going to miss the television exposure the SoCon provides us.

I bet the Big South got a sweeter deal, again.

Put yourself in the SoCon's shoes.

You're on ESPN3, so NO ONE that is not evolved with those universities will be tuning in, there is no revenue coming from the games.

They aren't putting GSU @ App on the schedule because it is the best game (it is of course), they are doing it to give both schools one game on "tv".

Why give two schools that aren't going to be around after next year more games?

I was one of the first to complain about the lack of coverage (real tv) that the SoCon has received the last two years, but I couldn't care less about games on ESPN3 under this deal.

SoCon tv - that's someone elses' problem now.

Sun Belt games for 2012:

8 on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU (the ones on your TV)

7 on Regional TV (plus 4 at ULL)

24 on ESPN3

We just have to keep reminding each other there is only one more year until this nightmare is all over.

Most of the civilized world has no idea what espn3 is, so who cares to begin with.

No sure I buy that. Agree that ESPN3 is not equivalent to a national broadcast, but most all sports fans that I know are very familiar with ESPN3 and watch a good deal of stuff on it.

No one except the most ardent supporters of a School or team gets up from their TV to go watch a game on a computer.

Elon also got the one game treatment. So it's not a coincidence.

Really? I generally read this forum on my TV from a couch 15 feet away using a wireless mouse and keyboard. It really isn't very difficult to set up. Works great with ESPN3, can actually watch four games at a time with split screen.

Or simply hook the computer to the TV and watch ESPN3 on the TV screen.

Agreed that the avid supporters will watch ESPN3 but ...

I can hook up easily to the TV with my laptop and then run the sound to my surround sound! Granted it is not the same as being on real TV but it beats nothing at all.

Well for the last 2 days I have been asking people if they watch espn3 and the majority said, "what is that?". Did not find one person who watched it.

What is the age group of the people you asked? And who are there teams? Most folks who pull for ACC/SEC/Big Ten, etc. don't have to worry too much about ESPN3/WatchESPN because their games on TV. ESPN3 is great for those games that aren't on TV or for replay. I din't get to watch some of the College World Series live so I watched some replay on ESPN3. Now don't get me wrong, it is silly to tout a conference for having a "deal" to get their games on ESPN3, since it is internet only. That's not a TV contract. But ESPN3 serves a purpose and it's a great alterative to spending a fortune on cable/satellite if one is fortunate enough to have an ISP who provides ESPN3. Thankfully I do.

I would say about 30-65 maybe 70. JMU, W&M, Richmond, Elon, Western, APP, and I don't know who else.
