Records are meant to be broken. I watched some of the game. He is a good RB. If they are our West side opponent and Gore is still there, going to be tough to stop as I think they pick up a QB in portal.

Really enjoyed watching Southern Miss’s blitz strategy, especially in the fourth quarter. Wish we could have adapted some of that to our scheme.

I bet Southern Miss will give him more than 6 or 8 carries per game next year.

He looked good with quick cuts and speed once in space. However he needs to protect the ball better.

On another note, did you notice how much running space the OLine gave him? That is what we looked like in the past. Big difference running when your line does that.

He was also 2/3 passing for 19 yards and a TD through the air.

I only watched maybe half of it off and on. From what I saw, the space was more to Rice playing terrible gap defense more than the o line doing work. I don't know Rice's scheme at all so I don't know who is at fault, but I saw on multiple occasions a 3 tech and a LB were in the same gap. That is never going to work (unless RB is in that gap of course).

At least the record remains with a Sun Belt player.

Perhaps Rice also sucks. They were 5-7 for a reason.

You probably don’t get to 300 plus yards in a game without a little a little help from D. I am not taking anything away from the RB as it was the same for Cam but just saying. The RB took what they gave him and took care of his business. He did a great job.
