Wish I had time to go back and see how many passes were dropped this past season. His stats would probably look outstanding if those were caught.

Re: Chase Brice
Four and six against FBS competition , two wins against bad FCS teams ....another winning season like that and Coach will be looking for a job .

Re: Chase Brice
He made at least 3-4 throws that I did not think the previous few QBs would have made. Brice will make some head scratchers sometimes or a bad read but does have the ability to make some tough throws.BayouApp wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:17 pmAnd without his throws those may not have been close games, especially UNC.appbio91 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 5:41 pmThere are some stupid ass comments in this thread (teller), I’m embarrassed I wasted time reading them. CB will be remembered as one of the best, 2022 UNC and Troy finishes alone were among the most exciting ever in KBS history. Our record in 2022 had nothing to do with the QB.

Re: Chase Brice
Several drops for sure. I am happy with what Chase did for us. I won't complain. I do get where some wonder about some results if Chase were more mobile but those who are mobile and got a big arm are like Drake Maye and they are at the P5 level.AppState89 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 9:32 amWish I had time to go back and see how many passes were dropped this past season. Re: Chase Brice
I totally agree on being more mobile. If he was, we would have won all of our games. Other teams knew he wasn't mobile, so they didn't have to worry about long runs from him. That will change this coming season.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 4:32 pmSeveral drops for sure. I am happy with what Chase did for us. I won't complain. He is counting 2022 as last year because we are in a new calendar year and you are thinking last year as in the year before this past year. You had me confused as well because I think of 2022 as last year since it is.
And Stonewall is right about the coaching record. If we have another one then we will have a change at head coach for sure. I don't blame Chase for the 6-6 record though. I think we had a lot of issues but he was not one of them.

Re: Chase Brice
And we are lucky he had the arm he does because he was able to make some throws that previous QBs for us would not have made. I am excited to see what a mobile QB does. I don't agree with those on here and 247 who have blamed our problems on coach turnover because I don't think it is that simple. It depends on the coaches you hire and I think this is the best staff we have had since 2019. Barbay was the only coach who left that I really wanted to stay and I think Clark made good moves. I know the QB is young and might have a rocky start but with this staff and the fact that our OC picked this QB I feel like we should gel by mid-season and win more games this year. I'm curious to see how Matt does though because his hiring is just as important as the OC and DC. If Matt turns out to be as good as people think then I believe we will definitely be happier this coming fall.AppState89 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 4:39 pmI totally agree on being more mobile. Correct.Last year , last football season was 2022 .2021 was two years , two football seasons ago ....but the past is past .We need to move forward into whatever year this is.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 4:50 pmHe is counting 2022 as last year because we are in a new calendar year and you are thinking last year as in the year before this past year. Either way, our record wasn’t a result of bad QB play.Stonewall wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:02 pmCorrect.Last year , last football season was 2022 .2021 was two years , two football seasons ago ....but the past is past .We need to move forward into whatever year this is.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 4:50 pmHe is counting 2022 as last year because we are in a new calendar year and you are thinking last year as in the year before this past year. It was an amalgamation of a lot of things that were coming. They just all hit at once.

Of course no one player shoulders the blame , it was a team effort.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:07 pmIt was an amalgamation of a lot of things that were coming. They just all hit at once.

Hold up...let me get out my star charts, abacus and paper calendar from the State Farm insurance people to figure out what year it is now.Stonewall wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:02 pmCorrect.Last year , last football season was 2022 .2021 was two years , two football seasons ago ....but the past is past .We need to move forward into whatever year this is.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 4:50 pmHe is counting 2022 as last year because we are in a new calendar year and you are thinking last year as in the year before this past year. Re: Chase Brice
A defense yielding 31.8 pts per game against FBS opponents is the single most problematic stat. Reduce it by a TD per game and we win every game.
Not saying offense couldn’t use some tweaking but the the big glaring issue was a bad defense.
On a positive note SC made a big change in that area so I am very optimistic this year.

Re: Chase Brice
Sloan is a proven upgrade, but let’s not degrade the former DC without appreciation for what he had to work with. We entered the year replacing 5 starters, 3 of which went to the NFL. Then you had four guys that you were counting on to fill voids in Harrington, Cobb, Hampton, and Huff miss all, or significant portions of the season with injuries. We can debate whether Jones was the man for the job all day, but last year would have been difficult for any DC to have success.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:36 pmA defense yielding 31.8 pts per game against FBS opponents is the single most problematic stat. Agreed. "Counting On" includes "leading on the field" during game action. I am sure all these guys missing tried their best to provide insight while not being able to play. On the field leadership in the heat of the battle is very important. It was missed.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 7:21 amSloan is a proven upgrade, but let’s not degrade the former DC without appreciation for what he had to work with. Are we talking calendar year or school calendar year, traditional or year-round school calendar.Bootsy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 9:14 pmHold up...let me get out my star charts, abacus and paper calendar from the State Farm insurance people to figure out what year it is now.Stonewall wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:02 pmCorrect.Last year , last football season was 2022 .2021 was two years , two football seasons ago ....but the past is past .We need to move forward into whatever year this is.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 4:50 pmHe is counting 2022 as last year because we are in a new calendar year and you are thinking last year as in the year before this past year.
