And can't get fired and seldom receive criticism on here. Everyone gets to diss players and coaches without consequences.

Going to admit that I don’t get that granular about the program. I didn’t know we had someone in that position.

We actually have four. Two for offense and two for defense. The opening is for an offensive QC and the other one is occupied by Jerry Moore’s grandson. We also have three graduate assistants.
But for reference of how much we are behind, Louisiana had 40 in Napier’s last season.
They currently have 12.

Thanks for sharing these numbers, 94.
Having a large team of quality analysts is a big difference maker come gameday.
I'd love to see us double the size of our analyst team, but these folks cost money.

I love college football but this stuff has gotten way out of hand.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:16 amWe actually have four. Two for offense and two for defense. The opening is for an offensive QC and the other one is occupied by Jerry Moore’s grandson. We also have three graduate assistants.

Our AD needs to do a better job raising money if we are going to be competitive.

Definitely. And he's already done a tremendous job. He and his staff have found high end donors most people didn't even know existed. There is more work to do, but yes, fund raising needs to continue to grow!

College football is a billion dollar business, coaches have figured out that since there is no direct payment to labor, they instead are able to compile massive staffs to sway competitive balance. What is way out of hand in your mind?Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:26 pmI love college football but this stuff has gotten way out of hand.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:16 amWe actually have four. Again, big fan, every home game in the last 14 years fan. That said the money being spent on football seems to be way out of screw with the money being spent on academics. I believe in sports as a part of the ‘whole” education for some and as a pathway to education for others but it’s just too much money. If I was ask to sit down and justify the money being spent on college sports vs the money being spent on academics I don’t think I could. Does the kid who’s good in math, not great, good, get all the academic help a 2nd or 3rd string player gets? And does the kid who’s great in math start getting sent to math camp in middle school and being recruited. That said I’m kind of part of the problem myself.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 10:55 pmCollege football is a billion dollar business, coaches have figured out that since there is no direct payment to labor, they instead are able to compile massive staffs to sway competitive balance. I didn't know those people existed either, but they do. When Luke Combs is on a waiting list for a suite, that's a good thing for us. I know people give Eric Church a hard time about being a Carolina fan, but he gives more money to App than people know. Doug has done a tremendous job finding the high end donors for sure.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 9:21 pmDefinitely. And he's already done a tremendous job. Generally speaking , it's not the same pot of money. You could divert the student athletic fees to" academics" I suppose , and drop back to FCS or D2 .In any event much more money is spent on the academic side and rightly so.The right balance is in the eye of the beholder I would venture.

You make a fair point. Priorities are not always what they should be in an ideal world...but this didn't happen overnight and it isn't limited to the USA. We can say we're complicit because of our enthusiasm.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 6:57 amAgain, big fan, every home game in the last 14 years fan. Safe to say that "sportsball" has become a sort of religion for some people. When that kind of thing happens, perspectives and priorities get blown out of whack in a great many ways.

Re: Perfect job for some board members!
I find it hard to believe that anyone that gives or sponsors ECU, UNC, NCSTATE would turn down AppState on their logos. If they were given the education of AppState's Brand Awareness and some research put behind feelings people have about the AppState brand. We need to hire brand salespeople. Pay them commission only. They don't cost the school anything. Every time I see a Cookout, Chick-Fil-a, PapaJohn's add without App on it I think we have missed an opportunity with the right education. If someone told me one of them had been properly educated and they chose to leave App off and put EZU UNC or NC STATE on. I would boycott. I think at this point they don't know the brand power.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 9:21 pmDefinitely. And he's already done a tremendous job.
