Offensive line did way better than I thought or expected they would.

Defense showed well, even though I thought we would blitz at least some.

Malachi Jones will be a force this year.

JJ showed a lot of grit when he was cramping and dinged a bit.

Kimbrough and Grier did really well.

Washington and Peacock played well.

I agree on all those. JJ could have a HUGE year (especially when we get Price into the mix). I was proud of the D. Do we have a special teams coach and put our best athletes (starters) out there?

Agree with all those points.

And with regard to "I thought we would blitz at least some", I too had HOPED we would blitz at least some, but I've learned not to expect it very much.

I liked a lot of what I saw on both sides of the ball.

Chisolm was running possessed until he left the game.

Good catches by the receivers. McElfresh getting some grabs.

Defense was looking great until they ran out of gas at the end.

I definitely feel that we should go into the Griz game upbeat. Need to clamp down on the penalties and specials teams (yeah, broken record) though.

Despite the lopsided ending, we are ahead of last year at this point and feel good about getting better. We had a bunch of offensive yds and really stopped ourselves most of the time against maybe the best defense and referees we will play against all season. We will develop a go to clutch guy as we move along. Glad we are deep at the receivers but could have used Price today. Defense did well, considering the gifts to ECU.

Where was Sean Price today?

Listening on the radio, it honestly sounded like we had the horses to run with those guys. However, we weren't quite a team, yet. If they take it to that next level, this will be a 2006ish team and could really go places.

Suspended for the first two games, I believe. Undisclosed violation of team rules in the offseason.

It was a weird game. We beat ourselves much more than they beat us. You don't expect to outgain a team in total yards and lose by 22. We definitely had the chance to win this game. The blown call on the fumble that wasn't returned for a TD really took the wind out of our offense. They were never the same again, but we still moved the ball easily. This was a very winnable game that we mostly took from ourselves with stupid penalties and turnovers.

I should also point out that we ran the ball very well - something we haven't done against an FBS team in many years. Clean up the turnovers and we run on everybody this season with wild abandon.

Watched game but missed post game radio broadcast. Any reports on injuries we incurred and or severity of them?

I agree with all the points also. I'm happy to see the Ol ahead of where we thought it was going to be and some of the problems we thought we were going to have aren't as bad as we thought they could be (take ST out of that statement).

As far as blitzing goes, I think we will see more of it as we get players back and get the ones in new positions more used to where they are supposed to be. Dangerous to blitz a lot when some kids are still trying to adjust to a new position. Hopefully that will pick up as the season goes on.

Just mentioned that similarity to 2006 to "hapapp" on the phone.

2 things for me. One, no serious injuries that I know of. Two, this game really meant nothing in the big scheme of competing for SoCon titles and FCS national title

Hope I heard wrong as I was a little far from the radio but I THOUGHT I heard JM say in the postgame interview that Chisholm broke his arm. Hopefully I'm wrong on that but I do remember Randy J saying that his left arm was heavily wrapped.

Really?? Crap, I didn't listen to post game I just watched it on FSN and of course they made no mention of it. That really hurts, I thought he would have a big year this year.

Randy did say Chisholm's arm was heavily wrapped and that he may have had ice under the wrap. I fear he will not play next week.

tough break for him and the team, i know i've been waiting for him to emerge for a long time, considering this is his last hoorah.

I believe Coach Moore said it was a broken hand - nothing much in the postgame other than they would know more early in the week about all the banged up guys ---

agree with this - many positives today - other than kick coverage of course ---
