Side note, but also related to jersey numbers. I just noticed last season and this is the first in a long time (As far back as I can ever remember) someone was granted the forbidden number 1 jersey.

To clarify this is the last time a number will be removed from circulation and current atheletes wearing 14 can wear it for the remainder of their time at App.

The only possible way this game gets Gameday is if both teams are undefeated. Even assuming that, it would be highly unlikely. This is the same Saturday as the Iron Bowl, LSU-TAMU, UNC-NC State, Florida- FSU, and Clemson- South Carolina. Whichever of those match-ups is between Top 25 teams or has the most playoff implications will get College Gameday.
The only week that Gameday might be possible in Boone is Week 3 against ECU. And that would only be if App and ECU are both undefeated, which would mean App beat GWU and UNC while ECU beat Michigan and Marshall. Every other week has much bigger match-ups that will appeal to broader audiences.

Well, I hope EasyU can beat Michigan and Marshall.
