They weren’t smart enough to let him play QB. They’ve got folks down there to this day that believe Jayson Foster was a better QB.
But….that would have been a hell of an offense if they had Edwards and Foster together and they knew what to do with them.

Wish they would have focused a little less on the Michigan game. True, it was a huge deal, but AE was much more than the Michigan win. 10,000+ yards passing and 4,000+ yards rushing, back to back Walter Payton awards, 2 national titles, etc. Man he was awesome and so fun to watch!

So glad they are retiring his number, but it’s taken them too long to do it. Just like it took them too long to put Jerry Moore’s statue up. We would not be the program we are today without those guys.

Gonna have to play our best to pull out a W at JMU, but damn I hope we beat the stink on AE day!

There have been pro players in sports who were slam dunks for Halls of Fame and many for jersey (or even number) retirements without waiting. AE deserves all of that. There were games that now don't seem that great when you consider the current teams (like the Citadel) but I recall AE putting on a show one year against them and during that time they were fairly tough.
