Pretty good write-up. I would point out that it is incorrect in stating that the 2004 loss to WCU was a catalyst in changing to the spread. We were already a spread offense in 2004 (it was our first year). Our problem that year was lack of D...particularly the struggles of two freshmen CB's who stepped up the next year and eventually became outright studs.
The description of Jerry's "retirement" was about as graceful as we could hope for.
