Thread from Clemson Message Board
Thought I would share these two threads. I fully agree with one comment they made. I was hoping for Clemson to beat UGA because they could overlook us. They are angry and have a chip on their shoulder so we better be ready.

Perhaps they are angry, but instead of having a QB that sucks, they’ll have an angry QB that sucks.

TigerNet makes the cabin look tame. I’ve never seen so many horrible takes in my life.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:26 pmThought I would share these two threads. Completely correct. We rip on each other here or be obnoxious trying to inject politics, but this board is Nothing like some of these schools. This really is a good board, and I think we are spoiled by it. Even the people on here who I've been back and forth with, I can guarantee if we ever crossed paths, we'd chat up a storm and go smack a catamount for old times. from everything I've seen over the years on other, especially bigger athletic programs, boards I don't think I could say the same.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 1:31 pmTigerNet makes the cabin look tame. Re: Thread from Clemson Message Board
Never bought into the "they're angry; chip on their shoulder; something to prove; etc" thing....that lasts for 1 or 2 series and then it comes down to playing ball and executing. Questions for me for this game are... 1. can we move the ball on them? We didn't look great, especially running, yesterday...but could have been we were playing very conservative, not wanting to show much....and 2. can we stop their run? If yes, and it's up to Cade to beat us, then we have a shot.

FYI, after skimming their board, there are some on there that want Chodewell as their coach.

Re: Thread from Clemson Message Board
The last time Clemson was relevant was 1981 with Danny Ford, which took a lot of NCAA violations to achieve that level of success. It was not until Dabo that Clemson became relevant again.
I really do not see the transfer portal to be any teams saving grace. Look how many coaches have tried to fill all their spots with the transfer portal and not been successful.
I also think that the non-autonomous programs are not being gutted by the autonomous programs are gutting one another. For example, Duke's quarterback going to Notre Dame. Much like JMU quarterback going to Texas State and USM quarterback going to Appalachian.

Coach Saban said it best on College Gameday..... "You guys keep talking about a 20 million dollar roster. If you don't pay the right guys, you'll be shit out of luck." - Nick Saban

Content aside, it’s also the worst format I’ve ever seen. Boneyard banter uses that mess too it’s nightmare fuel.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 1:31 pmTigerNet makes the cabin look tame. Re: Thread from Clemson Message Board
I agree with the comment above about being angry, chip on the shoulder, etc. That means nothing and typically it’s just something implied by part of a fan base. Does that work the other way? Can a team be happy and play the opposite? We should fully expect them to be prepared and fired up as should we. The biggest thing is to go in there not intimidated with an expectation to win.

Klubnik just misses windows horribly. If he doesn’t have time, he will not find a guy because he’s not making timing throws. Scot needs to crowd the line and blitz like there is no tomorrow. If Hopper is back, I fully anticipate getting Klubnik off of his mark and forcing him into mistakes.

Too much focus is put on the portal. NIL is the true game changer. Clemson is closer to ncsu and unc than they are texas and Georgia types in that realm.

Are we still in limbo about the Hopper situation or did we get more clarity this weekend? Would love to have him back this week, much needed game changer.ericsaid wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 6:00 pmKlubnik just misses windows horribly. Hopper and Stroman are two pieces of the puzzle that could make a BIG difference for App on Saturday.
Hoping they'll both be ready to roll.

If they can go I would imagine they will go. We could definitely use them. I am hoping that we kept Stroman out simply being cautious knowing we will really need him against Clemson.

I guarantee that's a mistake. Dabo may soon get his head out of his ass and catchup from being left behind in his philosophy

Re: Thread from Clemson Message Board
Rumor going around there is that if he has a down year that boosters told him he would be forced to go into the portal for players to upgrade or he would lose some funding and would be on hot seat in 2025 but I don't see how he is gone before 2027. His buyout is 60M in 2024 and 2025 and 57M in 2026. He has time and I am sure he will make some changes if they fall too far behind. Would a loss to us be the kick in pants he would need to change his portal philosophy?Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:00 pmI guarantee that's a mistake.
