I'm not a huge Eric Church fan since he seems to care more about UNC than his alma mater, but this is a cool and generous thing to do.

If you’re not a fan you might not know how much he loves Western NC. One of his last albums was recorded in Banner Elk.

I'm aware, he has a house in Elk River and I've seen him a few times up there. I'm a fan of his music for sure, just a little bitter he's on the UNC sidelines with his "Chief" UNC jersey than he is on ours!
Listen to the song Carolina, he even mentions Elk River!

I get people being annoyed over his support of UNC, but the villainization has been a bit extreme. Yes, I prefer Luke Combs, but this is a very good thing he is doing and I appreciate it. Kudos to Church for this one!

People who get so butt hurt over him liking UNC are ridiculous. We have tons of alumni who love App and crazy enough love other schools as well.

Author Robert Caro once said, "Adversity does not create character, it reveals it."
Like Eric Church or not, you have to respect his love for the area and willingness to give back at a time of great need.
That speaks volumes about the man, who he is and what truly matters to him.
