In a Tuesday night Sun Belt matchup, we see South Alabama (2-4) hosting Troy (1-5). USA currently leads Troy 19-0 in a battle for 3rd place in the Yellowhammer State.
Just a reminder, 2-4 USA beat App like drum at the Rock just a few weeks ago. 2-4. Beat us by 34 points. At the Kidd Brewer Stadium.

They both tackle much better than we do.

what? you mean it doesn't take 6-7 tries to bring down their running backs? I can't compute

We’re talking about South Al? Man where are we?

We are not good. Neither is SoAl or Troy. I feel sorry for the 2nd QB playing at Troy right now. He's struggling to say the least.

Defending SBC Champ is about to go to 1-6. I would imagine the Trojan faithful are experiencing a similar feeling as we are.

Difference is they lost their staff and more key players. They knew going into the season it was going to be a down year.

And they are rebuilding from back to back championships .

That was one ugly game. I will say Troy's backup QB looked a little better than the starter poise-wise, but the results weren't a lot better. As soon as they got that safety it was done for Troy.

I think they went to their third string qb. I know #1 was out.

Doesn't make it any easier though.
Some Trojan thoughts: This program is going downhill faster than southern miss after Fedora left. I hope Troy can figure something out and soon. Coach Parker isn’t it though. I can already hear him in his press conference now “ we aren’t getting the results we want” “we have to tip our cap to the way south Alabama competed.” “I hate giving this speech every week.” Replace him with the Charles Henderson High School football coach until we can find a Head Coach that can at least win a sunbelt game."
"Bite the bullet, pay the buyout.Get started on hiring now. This is historically bad for Troy.In this new era of college football,we can not afford to let this burn out of control. This could last way longer than any of us could deal with."
"This program is in a huge hole, stuck in mud. No denying this.
It’s a wet noodle: limp, lifeless and bland.
Parker and this staff is inexperienced, rudderless and in over their heads.
Very small possibility it gets better.
It truly is unbelievable this program can end up going 1-11.
This team is on quit watch.
Change something Parker, anything"

Sure it does. When you win back to back championships then lose your coach, lose key contributors it makes it easier to digest than what we'd had the last 2 years followed with the message being we can compete for a conference title.

Not a lot of patience on the Troy board.

Performance based business. Coaches are paid handsomely to produce. Fail and depart.

Outside of W/L though, I don’t see a fireable offense. He’s probably a good dude, no one arrested, people like him.
Am I doing this right?

Give the guy a couple more years, can’t judge him on 5 years alone

Doesn't sound like their fans are digesting it all that well regardless of their circumstance.
