We have a higher touted HS QB on the roster this year and another coming in next year (for now). Pair that with us probably getting a portal QB every year and that becomes a slim chance to PT.

While I understand the comment, you have to give grace and time to a true freshman. Expecting them to come in and contribute effectively, especially at our level, is a bit unrealistic.

Expecting them to come in and look somewhat competent in any way is not unrealistic though. He showed some competence in practice so maybe he can figure it out and be successful down the road.

Absolutely, I wasn’t knocking him. Our thought process is probably that in today’s game you need “ready now” guys, especially at QB. He was thrust into a tough situation last year. Wish him all the best, go get some solid JUCO reps and leap back into D1 next year.

Still feel thin at RB. Maybe we use that spot to find a late bloomer or late transfer for a position that is somewhat easier to get caught up to speed on than others.

Not sure of his reasons to leave. The timing doesn’t lend itself to transferring because of playing time. Seems that he would have done it sooner. But while DLo liked him, he wasn’t a DLo recruit.
