Unread post by SouthernPigskin » Fri Aug 16, 2013 1:13 pm

Hey guys,

Southern Pigskin's Anthony Richards and Matt Osborne have made their preseason predictions for the Southern Conference in 2013. Take a look at what our guys think about the upcoming season.

Are you guys going to continue to cover us after the move to the Sun Belt? You should pick up the Sun Belt and C-USA since both will have a southern footprint as much if not more than the ACC.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

We have begun early discussions of how we will handle the switch, but I know that we plan on continuing our coverage of Appalachian State.

Picking between App and GaSo is a coin toss at this point. Once the season gets rolling, we might have a better feel. I'm a total homer, so my perspective is totally biased but I still believe App has the potential to have a very special season. Obvious variables are: 1) Will Satterfield be as great a HC as we all seem to believe, 2) How is our running game going to develop, and 3) Is Coach Woody's D going to gel immediately or will it take a while to develop?

I think the early indicators are favorable. Georgia Southern is always dangerous and Swope makes me nervous every time he touches the ball but I am hoping that Woody's presence will have our guys ready to defend the triple option the way it SHOULD be defended. For that same reason, I think the Citadel is dangerous but I think App gets some payback this year in Charleston. I don't see The Citadel repeating against either App or GaSo this year.
