Watching the Texas A&M/Alabama game and a couple of things are bothering me. A defender is going for an interception and he is flagged and ejected, which was eventually overturned. But what if it happens in one of our games where replay is not available? Also, a defender loses his helmet, makes the tackle, and is assessed a 15 yard penalty. I just don't get it.

Bama's o-line has gotten away twice now with taking someone's helmet off and no calls.

When I saw that play, I was amazed at the ejection call and glad it was overturned. The 'Bama defender simply played good D.

I did understand the penalty on the A&M defender. It wasn't that the kid lost his helmet but that he continued to try and make the play after losing his helmet. That's a real recipe for head injury and should have been called. If the kid loses his helmet and stops playing, there's no foul.

It's not that easy to remove a properly fitted helmet. It looked like one of the A&M players lost his helmet more than once. I wondered if it had been fitted right. I didn't see the 'Bama player pushing off the helmet which simply means I didn't see it. I was also cooking dinner for the whole family and playing with the grandkids while watching the game, so I did miss a few plays
