Re: Dual QB/ Dual Offensive Coordinators
We need to be recruiting Dual Threat QB's ... not Pro Style.
Do not need a Pro style with the lines we have had and will probably have.

Re: Dual QB/ Dual Offensive Coordinators
the dual QB situation needs to end. SAT needs to grow a pair, make a decision, and go with 1 QB. IMO, let's go with Kam. Landry USED to be a dual threat QB, but since the surgery, he is one dimensional, and he's not even that good of a passer, so he's out. At least teams have t prepare for Kam to run the ball..

Re: Dual QB/ Dual Offensive Coordinators
We are at our best when the QB runs for 100 yds, passes for 250 yds, and our running back gets another 150 yds on the ground. That is the "always attack" balance (250 run, 250 pass) that keeps defensive lines guessing. Right now we do not have the confidence to call those read option plays because we are too worried about our QBs getting hurt when the QB read is to carry the ball. We must call these plays, tell our QBs to use and trust their legs and run hard and get Hallock and Lamb prepared as a back up if one of the QBs goes down with injury.

Re: Dual QB/ Dual Offensive Coordinators
Well, it is hard to argue that your above description would be us "at our best" since that represents 500 yard of offense. I would think that nobody would argue with that being successful, but I don't think the mix is particularly important. One of the advantages of a dual QB system is that teh QB and the coaches calling plays SHOULD be able to play more relaxed (not worried about dings or minor injuries) because there is another solid option who can come in and lead the team. When Georgia had Green and Shockley, this became apparent when Shockley got injured and Green became less effective because he had to be more cautious. Whether it's a true "dual QB" system or just the knowledge of a very strong backup, this is a positive thing.Appstate88 wrote:We are at our best when the QB runs for 100 yds, passes for 250 yds, and our running back gets another 150 yds on the ground. Our dual QBs got 25 and -3 running for a total of 22 yards yesterday. Teams are going to key on Cox more and more if the QB is no longer a run threat in our offense.

I remember on one particular third and long late in the fourth quarter Kam rolled to the right and instead of taking the easy first down with his legs (there was nothing but green in front of him) he overthrew a receiver on the sidelines. Very frustrating but easily correctable.

Re: Dual QB/ Dual Offensive Coordinators
Can't argue with that, but KB had a long run (almost a TD) called back for holding. He also handed off a couple of times when he clearly should have opted to keep the ball, but he is pretty darn new. The threat is still there, but we need to use it better.Appstate88 wrote:Our dual QBs got 25 and -3 running for a total of 22 yards yesterday.
