Status of Small
Re: Status of Small
Darrin Small, a recruit that Ga. So really wanted and thought they had until he decided on App, is taken down by a cheap chop block away from the ball. Do I smell a stink here? It was not the only cheap shot that I saw in the first half. I don't think the Eagles came to Boone to take names. But in the end they got their ASSES handed to them, and it started with the flagrant block to Small.

Well, I usually hate to be confused with the voice of reason, BUT ... anytime you play a triple option team, there will be the tendency to block a lineman down low while being occupied by another OL up high; e.g., the chop block. It's going happen.dlh71 wrote:Darrin Small, a recruit that Ga. So really wanted and thought they had until he decided on App, is taken down by a cheap chop block away from the ball. Is it excusable? No. Can a defense expect chop blocks when facing TO teams? Yes. Chit happens.
Here's my point: Unlike Elon during Lembo's tenure, I don't think GaSo should be tagged with intending to cause injury here.
