Didn't our "Jumbotron" have the score, downs, etc on it when it was first installed. It is kind of cumbersome to have to look at the scoreboard on top of Owens to see the stats. but still glad to have the video board.

I think it did every time I looked at it Saturday. But, perhaps the score, downs, etc. are only up sometimes.

All of that info is on the scoreboard if I recall. Its just small like the graphics when watching a game on tv.

I think the info goes away during replays and promos, which is the time most people are looking for it.

I would lke them to add passing and rushing yards along with total yards, so we can see. It was on the screen at El Cid. I really like to see how many yards we have during the game, and it' s really nice to see when you hold a team like GSU "BELOW" their average.

I bring my MP3 radio to listen to the in stadium broadcast of the games and they give that information throughout. It is on 87.7 FM in every stadium ASU plays in.

I really REALLY hate saying this but in regards to the Jumbotron, we need to move in the direction of ECU. Theirs is all digital on the screen, has down, distance, timeouts, etc on each side of the screen with the live video in the middle. Granted, theirs is bigger than ours by a decent sum but its the direction needed. If the stadium extension does happen in the near future, we'll be set with TWO jumbotrons (if the sketches are what is actually planned).

I think the "ribbon" scoreboards I was excited about being installed a few years ago are the biggest disappointment.
They aren't scoreboards at all... just digital advertising boards. Revenue is good... but, I still wish they could display the score, down, distance, and time on occasion...

A place for displaying the clock, score, down and distance permamently on the Jumobtron side is the bare minimum of what is needed. Adding that information to at least 1 ribbon screen on each side would be good as well.
I hope the expansion of the scoreboard over Owens included video playback, permanent location for clock, score, down and distance plus additional information would get us to the level of many other FBS stadiums.

A great deal was made of our "jumbotron" when it was first installed; but the screen size was a big letdown. Then a couple of years later, it was announced that the screen was being replaced with a larger one--but you'd need a tape measure to see much difference. What we have now is simply substandard for a program of our stature.
When our contract with Daktronics, Inc. runs out, I'd like to think we'd play the field a bit before signing an agreement. We're being seriously short-changed.

Here's what we need from Daktronics...

That would definitely be nice. It might just be me, but it seems like we keep driving around with last year's model when we buy our jumbotrons.

It's nice, but we are going to need to spend more on coaches' salaries if we are going to be able to attract and keep quality staffs.

Washington spent $250million on their stadium upgrades, that new HD-LED wall among them, and it is top of the line. I'd love to see a HD-LED wall mounted over the grass among the trees at Kidd-Brewer, but doubt it would happen.

$250,000,000? Wow that is as much as our goal for the entire Capital Campaign.

Oh yeah, the SEC aren't the only ones spending big money. Hell even Duke is dropping nearly $250million to build a new Track & Field facility to expand seating as Wallace Wade to field level, and add an big atrium/lobby on the front of Cameron Indoor.
Welcome to the FBS boys, dig deep.

Duke has money to burn. Their endowment is one of the largest in the nation. Duke's track program used to be nationally known but I haven't followed in recent years. The Duke Relays were top notch.

Very true, it's not a fair comparison on my part really. Duke is private where UW, like us, is public, so each has completely different budgeting constraints.
