Couple of fronts will be working through NC Friday and Saturday. The chance for a shower exists in the forecast trends. Breezy & gusty conditions may be the curse, or blessing, for the day; winds could be gusting to 30 MPH by the second half of the game.

8 AM - Mix of clouds. Lower 40s.

Noon - Partly cloudy to partly sunny skies - chance for a shower. Lower 50s.

KICKOFF - Mix of clouds, breezy, chance for a shower, mid to lower 50s.

HALF- Mix of clouds, winds ramping up, gusty conditions starting to ramp up, mid to lower 50s

End of the GAME- Lower 50s to upper 40s, gusty winds to 30 MPH, Partly to mostly cloudy skies, chance for a shower.

Sorry just sticking with "chance"... the 20%... 30% thing is not a typical "Vegas Chance"... I'd go into the explanation, but then this would be moved to another thread and you'd scratch your head and walk away saying "Damn.. the Feds are really screwed up... " Yeah it's confusing... Use of %'s for me.. ranks right up with seasonal hurricane forecasts... useless... in my book...

***Thursday Update****

That "chance" for rain is looking less likely for Saturday; timing will be everything, and it appears it will be working in our favor with the 3:30PM kick. Later that evening, however, given the flow and up slope direction of the winds, some light rain / snow might be in the offing for the High Country. As usual, however, much will depend on what side of the mountain you're standing on! Bring layers for warmth, just in case breezier conditions play out earlier than expected.

Bring the rain gear and have it handy. Model data swinging back towards more of a chance vs less of a chance. So, at this point, best to have it along and color yourself not surprised should periods of rain develop.

We're seeing some classic mountain weather in Asheville today. Drove to work in drizzle, fog, gloom of night. Now turning on the AC in the office to combat the effects of the bright sunshine. Up next??? Whatever it is, it's great weather for App football!

I do.....I have just been trying to convince the wife to actually use her ticket! ...and the rain is "dampening" any hope I had....and if it is going to be in the 30's tooo....I am just going to resign to sitting by myself again!

If the missus can't / won't come, then come up to GGG (204) and sit with my son and me. The rest of our entourage can't make it this weekend, so we'll have an empty seat or two.
