Tommy Bowman

I like Tommy Bowman because he's been a loyal App State beat writer and is very good at what he does, but I have to say, for the record, that it really bothers me that he calls Coach Satterfield "Scott" on the weekly teleconferences.

He never called Coach Moore "Jerry." None of the other Sports Editors/writers refer to Coach Satterfield as "Scott", only Tommy Bowman.

A little odd.

I think we should notify the Department Of Homeland Security.

Is he a lot older than Coach Satterfield? Maybe there is something going on with that.

On another note, I don't like David Jackson calling Steve Brown "Brownie" even though Steve apparently doesn't mind it.

Since we all are from the App Family, referring to one another on a first name basis is perfectly acceptable to me. On another note, since I'm a retired Chief Petty Officer, sometimes people call me "Chief", it's a nick name. I'm okay with being called "Chief" from time to time, just like Steve is okay with "Brownie", it's not a big deal.

Possibly Scott asked him to call him "Scott" and not "Coach"

I think it's awkward when he calls his father "Dad" during broadcasts. "Back to you guys in the booth," "Thanks, Dad!"

Lighten up a little Fish
sometimes it is nice to read and comment on something that doesn't want people fired, complaining about attendance, leaving early, the OL sucks, the QB can't throw deep, the play calls are terrible, etc. -

many wanted Coach Moore gone - check
many wanted out of the SoCon - check
many wanted the SunBelt - check

But they just can't let all the built-up anger go - so keep complaining about something - anything
AND I'M NOT REFERRING TO THE INITIAL POST HERE BY SIXTOES :o

I've accepted the fact that we aren't good this year, I also fully support this staff until such time (3-4 years from now) we have or have not seen they can have us competitive in the SBC.

That said, I do think TB should call him Coach.

But, hey, it's just an opinion.

I agree! Next we'll have to complain about changing the cups or did we already have that thread?

BTW, my family likes the new cups.

yeah I have heard this and have thought about it and honestly have no opinion - I guess it could sound strange or I guess it could sound endearing - My Dad's been gone for a long time but I would call him ahole just to get to talk with him again ---

Wow. Interesting subject. I'm probably going to regret responding (I'm sure of it), but what the heck. I can't resist, hope to clarify and most assuredly don't want anybody bothered.

Yes, I am MUCH older than Scott, errr...Coach Satterfield. I called him Scott when he was playing as a 19-year-old young man. Probably won't change now. I don't think he's offended. He calls me Tommy. Not Mr. Bowman. I'm not offended.

We don't have dinner together. But I have known him for about forever.

Maybe for public posturing, I'll call him Coach on the next teleconference. Then again, probably not. ;)

I felt the same way about the endless threads pertaining to uniforms, logos, and helmets.

I don't really care what you call each other. I heard Tim Brando interview Spurrier yesterday. Brando called him Steve and Spurrier called Brando Timmy B.

I do care about our coverage, and for that, I am grateful to you Tommy, err..... Mr. Bowman. Thanks for doing what you do.
