APP State / WCU Weather Trends...

Forecast for Saturday appears to mimic our season this year. Cloudy, soggy, and not so nice early Saturday, but improvement as the afternoon, and game time, hours unfold. Winds will ramp up and it's expected to be rather gusty (30-50 MPH). Wind likely to be a major factor in the kicking game.

Alas, like many, I'm a bit sad that this rivalry for the Old Mountain Jug will come to an end after Saturday.

This my fellow Mountaineers, will be a game for the true diehards of the Mountaineer faithful. No bandwangon'ers this weekend, as the weather will weed out the weak, and keep those wearing other school colors, of the ACC, home; as it should be. Pack the cold weather gear, the rain gear and "apple pie", as these will be needed to help "weather" this end to a year of transition, struggle and flashes of hope.

8 AM - Mid 40s, Rain

Noon - Mid 40s, Rain

KICKOFF - Mid 40s, winds ramping up, rain chances departing.

1/2 Time - Small chance departing shower, windy, gusty and cold, mid to lower 40s.

End of the game - Upper 30s, very windy and gusty partly cloudy.

Damn proud to be a Mountaineer!

GO MOUNTAINEERS!

Have to be there to witness history. The last Battle for the Ole Mountain Jug and one final beat down of the Cantamounts.

hate the forecast, was hoping to have a standing room only crowd, to salute the team, seniors, and for the "future mountaineers", to get an idea of what its like to play at the rock on a Saturday afternoon, in front of 30,000 screaming App faithfuls.

I'm right there with you on the sinus infection. I will say, the last time I went to a game with cold weather and a sinus infection was JMU in 2007. My sinus infection > than purple/gold. BALL GAME AT THE ROCK!

I am bringing my family and plenty of chili!! Have missed some games this year, not due to the team's record, but because I wanted to help my son race his go kart. He is not racing this weekend, so we will be there in full force. It is great to be a Mountaineer!!

WXAPP,

Looks like the predicted rain % has gone down. Any truth to that?

Trend pretty much as it was yesterday. Morning rain should give way to the rain ending through the afternoon. If the timing of it is right, the ball game could be free of rain by the start of the game, or by the end of the first quarter. Upslope with NW wind might prolong a light rain issue until halftime or the start of the 3rd quarter. When I get into work, I can take a closer look at things. Winds will really ramp up during the game and get gusty by the end of the game. The 40+mph wind gust probably won't hit until after the game has ended.

I'll post an update later today…

***THUR EVE UPDATE***
No major changes in my thoughts for Saturday. Soggy early, less of a chance for rain action as the afternoon unfolds. Might end the game in snow... Anyone remember that Elon playoff game years back? I do.. still thawing out...

A real Mountaineer would wear shorts tomorrow!

Personally, I'm going to have about 7 layers on. I might not be able to move.

I'm pretty sure you can find a student at the game wearing shorts tomorrow.

And then they will leave at the half because they got too cold.
