I was watching the FCS channel and I stumbled upon your weekly football show. I have to say, 2007 aside, I'm gonna miss this program when it leaves next year. I know you're having a down season but if you look at how remarkable this program has been for ten plus years it really is impressive. The 3 NC's are obvious, but I think Appy State has done a lot to show other FCS programs THE WAY. From stadium/facility upgrades, to really getting the whole alternate uniforms trend going; you've done a lot and it's a big loss for the FCS. I think one of the hard things about having a class with like of Richardson and Lynch is that you get spoiled. They are so good and win so often that you just get accustomed to not only winning, but winning all the time. It's so rare to have a collection of guys like that and it's a lesson I think the boys at NDSU are about to learn next year. I hope your transition from FCS to FBS goes as smooth and an AE keeper against our secondary and you're in a Bowl next year.

Appreciate the kind words, Dude.

I'm still a fan of, and will continue to follow, FCS football and the playoffs.

I am hoping someone..anyone..please..denies NDSU their third straight this year. I thought App fans were pretty obnoxious on AGS during our run, but those guys have gone well above and beyond.

Best of luck to Delaware and maybe we'll see you in a bowl game some time in the future.

Thanks Dude, your attitude shows what competition and rivalries can be at their best... fun, good natured ribbing and yes even a certain amount of trash talk ... all carried out in good spirits.

Dude, classy remarks, thanks for taking the time to share. Ive said it before, Delaware has the coolest football uniforms in all of collage sports, don't care what Michigan fans say, I still think they stole your helmet design!!

Here's some wisdom I know you did not ask for but I feel compelled to share. That which angers you controls you.

Appy and pronunciations like Appaylaychen State are commonplace. They are not necessarily used derisively, and if you suspect they are being used that way go back and reflect upon my second sentence.

I honestly didn't know that was a point of contention. Sorry about that. I had no idea, nor did I intend anything with Appy...from here on out...ASU for me.

No, it shouldn't because our university publishes media guidelines which specifically say that the name of the school is App-a-latch-un State not App-a-lay-shun State. The university makes no such specifications about the use of Appy.

I find "Appy State" to be grating. That said, when I was in school I remember our starting QB wearing an "Appy State Football" shirt in class, so I guess it's not that much of an outsider thing.

I don't care if they read it or not. The fact is that the university has stated clearly what the name of the institution is. Anyone who mispronounces it can rightly be corrected. They have not stated that Appy is offensive.

You must be young if you go by The Dude...lol
I went to Delaware games when you were probably a baby or even before you were born. I know what you are saying. Leaving the fcs is not easy BUT for APP State, I think it will be a good ride. We went through a tuff season and once we started fighting and playing, instead of drinking and crying, APP did pretty well. I do see a bright future and will always keep an eye on The Hens, of The University of Delaware and actually Villanova (I know don't hate).

Keep in touch in The Sunbelt and if your ever in North Carolina during football season let me know and you can be my guest.

We can't be ASU anymore either in the Sunbelt because of AR State took it.

89, you'll note that I was not the one who pointed out the "Appy." I simply agreed with it. I see no difference in taking offense to "Appy" as those who get all riled up about the pronunciation of Appalachian.

As I have already pointed out twice, the difference is that the university specifically says what the pronunciation should be. They make no mention of Appy. Huge difference if you choose to see it.
