2015 APPALACHIAN STATE FOOTBALL NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Sept. 5 HOWARD BOONE, N.C.
Sept. 12 at Clemson Clemson, S.C.
Sept. 19 SOUTHERN MISS BOONE, N.C.
Sept. 26 at Old Dominion Norfolk, Va
That is an attractive OOC schedule. Of course, Howard is not great, but Clemson, ODU and Southern Miss are very nice to see. I'm assuming that App will see ODU in Boone in 2016.

I like the idea of playing ACC teams as much as possible. Every one of those games are winnable and it would do wonders for our exposure in the area.
And you better believe Shawn Elliot is going to share every bit of video and insight on how to take down the tigers.

Insight #1 - fill your roster with SEC recruits.

Nice slate to get the base excited for our first year being completely eligible for everything and having two FBS recruiting classes under our belts. Two OOC games in decent driving distance plus Ga. St. also the same as an away game give App fans a good choice of Home and Away games to attend.

Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
Yes, great job by Cobb and Sutton to get us games close by. This should easy any fears (complaints) from the fans about not being able to see us play as much. Depending on where you live that gives us 9 games within driving distance. Can't beat that in FBS.firemoose wrote:Nice slate to get the base excited for our first year being completely eligible for everything and having two FBS recruiting classes under our belts. Thats a helluva home schedule. It should be both entertaining and educational. We're probably going to learn some things we really don't want to know from SoMiss and from UL-L. But we have to play those guys to learn how to catch up. Should draw two huge crowds (as compared with the likes of Campbell and Samford). Looking forward to having the Ragin' Cajuns at KBS.

Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
surprised we got Southern Miss to come to Boone this early, I know they haven't been very good lately, but they are an established program. Love the Clemson game, anytime we can play a top 15 program and its an easy drive for our fans, is a homerun for the program. No surprise about ODU, both schools seem to have alot of interest in starting a rivalry, and playing each other on a yearly basis. Really happy about this schedule, great start for the program.

SoMiss ain't what they used to be. I wouldn't be surprised to beat them twice over the next two years.

Yep --- no wonder Fedora got out of town so fast - he left them with absolutely nothing ---Gonzo wrote:SoMiss ain't what they used to be. I wouldn't be surprised to beat them twice over the next two years.

Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
They'll be back soon enough. They've had both a staff morale crisis and a monetary crisis in their athletic department for a while now. The trickle-down has about worked its way through all the teams and through the entire university. They've been through two presidents and four athletic directors in three years. They're due to rebound strongly.WVAPPeer wrote:Yep --- no wonder Fedora got out of town so fast - he left them with absolutely nothing ---Gonzo wrote:SoMiss ain't what they used to be. Note that it's not certain those will be the Sun Belt home games - could also include Texas St., New Mexico St, or Mystery Team 12.asu66 wrote:JTApps1 wrote:Awesome news! I've been hoping for a game with Clemson (I have a lot of friends who are Tigers).

Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
If a 12th team isn't added those are likely the home games as it would be easier to flip the schedule than rearrange it. Either way it is going to be the best home line up I'm seen as my time as an App fan (post 1985).

Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
Awesome schedule. Looks like I will see 9 games that year. It may not be easy on my gas budget or my liver, but it will certainly ease the build up of stress from teaching and molding young minds.

Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
Which is why I said pending a 12th member. The Sun Belt has all but guaranteed the conference schedule will flip for 2015 unless a new member is added.EastHallApp wrote:Note that it's not certain those will be the Sun Belt home games - could also include Texas St., New Mexico St, or Mystery Team 12.asu66 wrote:JTApps1 wrote:Awesome news! Re: 2015 Non Conference schedule released
What an awesome schedule ! I have not seen a better schedule since I have been following App football - circa 1970's. I think that I can make seven or eight games in '15.
