Phil Steele Preseason All-SB
GaSt puts more players on the 1st team than App???
The player who I thought helped create the most havoc once he was inserted into the line-up gets no mention on any defense. I hope they all sleep on D. Stringer!

Huge crock of hock...shows that no real analysis was done

We're still being punished for not knowing our (FCS) place.
I was never a big fan of Phil and never ordered his damn magazine.

Jeez, what LB in the Sun Belt was better than John freaking Law.
Also, I think Taylor Lamb is going to make that prediction look really stupid by November.

He didn't even list stAte's QB, Knighten, who IIRC was on his All-SB team at the end of last year.

Want to see a real crock.....look at the team pages.......half constructed KBS, School founded in 1962 and Satt with an overall record of 4-8.

PS was really good when he first started his publications, but has really drifted the last several years. Really wonder how much time he puts into the breakdowns. That being said, he has to have some insiders giving him the info on the all conference teams. Wonder if they are media types or actual coaches??

Re: Phil Steele Preseason All-SB
Satterfield actually met with Phil in early May to go over every player on the team. This will simply provide additional motivation for the players over the summer and into the fall. If you've read any of the articles on the team's off-season training you'll realize the players are hungry and these rankings will only feed the beast.

Re: Phil Steele Preseason All-SB
I think this negative review is a good thing. Almost everything I've read has had an extremely bright outlook for this App squad. They are a very young team and I don't want them to get overconfident reading all their great press clippings. A good kick in the teeth like this can be some great locker room motivation and help keep some prospective. Every time a great prediction comes out for this team I would have them view the Liberty or SoAla games for some prospective. Few games have been won in the preseason or the press.

Meadors only needed one hand to make SportsCenter twice. If he decides to use both hands, 1st Team All Sun Belt is his.AppState89 wrote:Shaedon Meadors will light up the SunBelt's A$$ and be 1st team by the end of the year. Re: Phil Steele Preseason All-SB
Meadors has the potential, just needs to find the consistency. Not unusual for a young player, but it's hard to expect anyone to project him as all-conference when his own coaches currently place him as second string. (Though I'm not sure I expect that to last long into the season.)

As much as I like the experienced group of receivers we have this year I think once Simms, bobo, montez, and malachi have graduated it's going to open the door for a really great receiving corps. Shaedon meadors, zi letman, mock adams, and Jaylan Barbour are going to be a force to be reckoned with in 2016.

I agree, but I'm not sure they'll wait until 2016. Staff showed last year that seniority doesn't guarantee you get to keep your starting job.Appdoggy wrote:As much as I like the experienced group of receivers we have this year I think once Simms, bobo, montez, and malachi have graduated it's going to open the door for a really great receiving corps. I'd also add Mykelti Armstrong to that group, BTW.

I dont think you're giving Malachi, Montez, and Simms their due. Each one of them played at a high level especially the last half of the year.Appdoggy wrote:As much as I like the experienced group of receivers we have this year I think once Simms, bobo, montez, and malachi have graduated it's going to open the door for a really great receiving corps.
